Hmmmmm Stevie promoted the hell out of IYD. It did what it did, which was better than other classic rock singer songwriters.

It really boils down to the label....Sony/BMG is the worst! If I remember correctly, all of the Warner releases that I've gotten of late ~ Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, Ashley Monroe ~ had their artwork and track listing up well before the release date.

The other thing we have in our favor.....there are two versions, so they have to show what those two bonus tracks are. We may not have it Tuesday, but I would definitely think by mid-month!

We have to get the track listing when the album goes on sale. We have to know what songs we are getting.

I hope we do, but it's certainly possible we won't. It's a reasonably common practice to withhold the tracklist to generate excitement. There are albums for available for pre-order right now that do not have a tracklist available.

Remember the preorder for IYD ?There was no track list then and there would not be for a couple of months. What we did get was the first single with the preorder .I am at least hoping for that.

That would be a great start. Especially if the single isn't one of the three we've heard. If nothing else, we should get the tracklist week by week from Instagram. I'd still rather have it all at once, I think.

I've been patiently waiting for awhile, but now that we're coming down the homestretch, each week is going to get longer, and longer, and longer...

With most albums, since the songs are unfamiliar, a tracklist doesn't really reveal too much. You can just imagine the songs that lie behind it. But with this album, since we know the songs, they have all the more reason to withhold the tracklist, because we'll know too much.

I actually think this is right.. They know that we know, so they want us to wait ever so "patiently"

I think it is pretty much a given that the track list will not appear in the next week..The preview snippets revealed over the next 8 weeks are how we are going to get the track list..barring an inside leak.

Yes exactly. Have we coined the term "fantitlement" yet? I think it applies to the SN subforum at the moment. All this angst over tracklists and snippets not being released quickly enough. We have a release date, people. And it's way sooner than most of us would've expected. All will be known on the release date, and ultimately no real opinions about the album can be formed prior to that, regardless of whatever snippets surface. We have to relax a little and just be excited and willing to be surprised, not completely spoiled.

Sorry. It's Sunday morning and I'm feeling preachy, I guess.

Amen, Brother Dex!

I'm very much looking forward to the track-list reveal, but the build-up is half the fun. Enjoy the ride, folks!

Very well said and not the least bit preachy, I don't think!

The way I see it, this album is a once in a lifetime kind of thing. How often does an artist like Stevie go back through their old vault of unreleased material and actually re-record and release the songs the fans have loved listening to via bootlegs? I want the excitement of it to last as long as it can so it doesn't bother me in the least there is no track list or cover out yet. I'm sure there will be songs included that I love, songs I dislike and some I think are just OK. But I will have enjoyed the ride getting there. All of this secrecy makes it that much better.

To use a few old cliches: patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait. Exercise a little patience, folks. Barring any future miracles, we won't be going through an event like this again. Cherish it while it's here.

I love the word "fantitlement", btw.
