Am I the only one who cannot wait for the "Tusk" DVD-A to come out that way I can listen to "Brown Eyes" in hi-definition form. I mean, just the whole thought of it is making me wonder how I can wait any longer. Another cool thing would be if they had an extended version of the song on the expanded and remastered "Tusk." Though I extremely doubt it...I always thought the song sounded incomplete in length, especially when the guitar comes in towards the end -- it sounds as if we're missing half the song's magic. I can only pray....
Since they're remastering and expanding the Fleetwood Mac albums, do ya'll think they would ever do the same for albums like "Bella Donna" and "The Wild Heart?"

{sigh} Here we go again.
I don't think in 1979 Peter Green even knew what planet he was on, much less what songs he played on. Mick says in his book that Peter played on it, I HEAR Peter Green's guitar on it...that's good enough for me. Peter Green's guitar playing has a sound of its own, like "sonic DNA"...just like Hendrix, Clapton, Santana, EVH, etc. You can tell who it is in just a few notes. I think that since Peter was hanging out in LA at the time, Mick probably invited him down to the studio, Peter picked up a guitar and just played along with whatever was playing...somebody most likely mic'd the amp Peter was playing through and hit "record". Peter probably didn't even know he was being recorded. (and since he doesn't get credited on the album, Mick probably didn't pay him for the session either...just a mention in the book). Great point Chili on the DNA.....You can here distinction in many guitarists. Lindsey I believe is very distincitve. The acoustic playing has always had it. Lindsey also is one of the great recyclers of all time and that leads to a familiarity and instant recognition. His electric playing, particularly the sound of the turner rythym parts (I think a lot of these are actually done in the studio with a very processed telecaster) is also DNA hard coded.

Well that guitar does not sound like Lindsey, it has a more edgy dimension, and when I read that that was the song in which Peter Green played on that album, it wasn't weird at all. It sounds like him... something more subjective I guess.
Yes, a remixed/remastered version of "Brown Eyes", with the full sounding atmosphere around there, would be awesome. One of the main reasons why I would buy a remastered Tusk CD anyway. Song of the moment - Say Goodbye

I live in an apartment but when I get my hands on the Tusk DVD-audio the people that live here better go on vacation. haha
I can't wait for it, I LOVE 5.1 sound. The Dance, Rumours, and Say You Will all sound great. Tusk is my favorite album of all time, and to hear it in 5.1 would be amazing. It is going to feel like christmas morning when I get it.

I'm not too familiar with Peter's playing (just the songs i have on the boxed set) but I can tell you one thing, the phrasing and tone of that brief solo at the end of the track shows absolutely ZERO Buckingham characteristics.
