I don't see Dave as having a big ego. His intentions with Stevie seem to be very pure.
Nor do I think he will be singing on her new album. Cheaper than Free is what is, but just because he is producing her new album doesn't mean there will be another song like that.

I think he is a great muse and inspiration for Stevie. You have your valid opinion of his influence on her sound, and I have my valid opinion. I hardly think he is doing any damage to her songs.I love his approach, as does Stevie. If Dave wasn't in the picture, there would likely be no songs or albums at all - no In Your Dreams album, and no new album to look forward to. When was the last time Stevie recorded a new album only several years apart? No gratitude what so ever?

Not from people who don't like the album.

I adore IYD. But I don't get this mentality that we all need to feel indebted to Dave for simply getting Stevie on the ball in producing studio content again. If someone genuinely dislikes the content she's releasing now, why would they be thankful for it?

I'm not saying I understand how any Stevie fan would dislike IYD, but some clearly do, and there's a tone of righteous indignation on these boards towards people with any negative opinions at all that makes me really twitchy. These "shut up and just be thankful she's doing anything" arguments could've been used in defense of any bad content she's released since she made her millions in the 70s. But it just doesn't really mean much.

I've just been listening to the third excerpt from 24K Gold that Dave uploaded on June 22nd and I hear the following lyrics:

I agree with another poster that the track sounds similar to "You Like Me", although I don't think it is this song. It stampedes along in a similar fashion, but obviously the lyrics are different and the melody is not the same.

I'm very curious about this one.

I wonder if either of these could be the mystery song?

I hear it as "what would my life be without you in it"
and then I can't quite make out the next line

I think got it! This is "Takes A Long Time". An uncompleted track from the OSOTM Sessions. They both have Without You like lyrics also.

I think he's saying he can't say anything because what the cover will be is going to be a big surprise and he doesn't want to blow it. he should have used better punctuation

I think that's right, although his tweet was a bit unclear. I'd be surprised if Stevie used fan art for her album cover, but I definitely could see her using something she painted - particularly given that Dave had her Rhiannon painting on the mixing desk.

Early on in the game, the end of April I think, Dave tweeted, "Who thinks there should be a Design Stevie Nicks album Cover Contest hosted by Talenthouse ? Me for a start !"

It sounds like Dave is saying YES a decision has been made about the album art but he can't say because it's a "great surprise"...

Don't forget that there was fan involvement with submissions for the IYD doc...

I don't know if this topic is worth starting a new thread for or not, but in the absence of an official track-listing, I was wondering what songs we can assume will be included on the basis of certain information to date (not speculation or wishful thinking). Of course, none of the following tracks are guaranteed and not all of the information is necessarily factual, but from my recollection, these are possibilities:

24 Karat Gold - this is the proposed album title and we have heard an excerpt courtesy of Dave’s phone.
Starshine – we’ve also heard a snippet of this song.
mystery song – the third teaser from Dave, featuring lyrics none of us seem to recognise – possibly a track from 1969?
Gold & Braid – I think either Stevie or Dave referred to a song that had been performed live, but never recorded/released. This might also apply to the tracks Buckingham Nicks played in early 1975 ie Farewell Failure, You Won’t Forget Me and Heartbreaker (Circles In Time).
Gypsy Beggar – nothing more than a wooden sign as photographed by Dave to base this upon so I guess it is speculative, but it’s a possibility.

Are there any other titles that either Dave or Stevie have alluded to since recording began?
