My friends favor more male artists than females, and their misconceptions of Stevie are very common among "non-fans", that she sounds too much like a goat and that she is too airy/fairy.

I like dispelling that myth, and showing them that she is vastly respected - and has worked with and friends with many of the artists they they admire.

At a dinner party I played the In Your Dreams album. It worked! They enjoyed the album, so I succeeded in changing their perspective about her.

I don't understand the fans who find a problem with the album, which I think is one of her most solid works. There are strengths and weaknesses in most of her albums, but I've learned to love all of them. They are familiar; like comfort food.
That's great!

I think in some ways non-fan ears are the best at seeing a piece of work with clarity. Fans can often get bogged down in their own ideas of what they think an album "should" sound like or what they want it to be, rather than simply taking it for what it is.

Hmmmm....!!!
This is interesting. I didn't know that the plans for a reissue of BD had come that far. Do we know which other songs and/or outtakes were planned to be included?

Amen on that, although I think we've all been guilty of that in various times.

Took the words right outta my mouth.
