Does anyone here know if Christine, Lindsey and Stevie have at some point mentioned their favorite FM song penned by one of the other two writers? What about a solo song? Any guesses?

Stevie was interviewed about 15 years ago and was asked this question, except they didn't specify FM song, just a fav song written by the other 2 songwriters in the band. She mentioned "Stephanie" as being her favorite Lindsey song and "Oh Daddy" being her fav Chris song.

Not too long ago, Lindsey praised "Storms." I think he mentioned both Stevie's lyrics and Christine's keyboards. I think he's mentioned "Gypsy," too.
I seem to recall Stevie naming "As Long as You Follow" as her favorite Chris song. Lindsey has cited "You Make Loving Fun" as a favorite Christine song. I haven't heard much from them regarding each other's solo careers, except Stevie's comment that Lindsey was taking "melody pills." Though I'm not sure that was a compliment. ![]() |

It's amusing to me that Stevie would choose a Lindsey song written about her and a Christine song that she (very tenuously) had a hand in writing (or so she says re the "I can't walk away from you baby if I tried" line). Her arrogance knows no bounds...
I seem to recall Christine mentioned during the 1998 Making Of Rumours documentary that "Silver Springs" gave her chills, when commenting on how she hadn't properly appreciated Stevie's songs in the past, but now did. |

In that same interview, she actually clarified that "Stephanie" was not written about her. It was simply an instrumental, and Lindsey didn't have a name for it. So she (I think half-jokingly) suggested the name "Stephanie" and he went with it.

I remember John said he liked Crystal the best. But I guess his opinion doesn't matter, since they never play that song.

Mick recently said in the Johnny Walker interview that Oh Daddy was his fav.

Yes you're quite correct Josh, I'd forgotten about that. However, the fact remains that "Stephanie" is named after Stevie and in her mind, it is (as is everything else in life) about HER. I don't think she can see beyond that.

A Youtube link to "Oh Daddy" was posted on Christine's Facebook page just a few hours ago.

Um, have you checked? About 90% of his songs were written about her. This is one of the minority that wasn't.

Yes, but it's the only one that name-checks her and therefore, serves her ego.

Hmmm...I think it's very likely "Oh Daddy" makes the setlist.

I love the studio version. It varies on if I like the live version. LB and SN definitely need to add backing vocals. Wish the piano was a little more up in the mix live as well.
