I've never heard a Stevie Nicks solo demo. (Unless Joan of Arc was a solo demo.)

I would not have thought Stevie would record another album only 3 years following In Your Dreams. Especially not while a Fleetwood Mac album with Christine McVie is being recorded concurrently. Add to the fact that the album is solely old demos and is being recorded incredibly quickly- both things fans have been screaming for for decades now- and this just seems like the grand gesture us diehards have long been waiting for.Though I'd never heard the original demo for Starshine before Dave tossed us that little snippet, I'm incredibly excited after hearing it. The original demo is just so spunky & foot tapping. It seems like a song Stevie would truly have fun recording. And that's where it's at, really. If she has fun recording, that will shine through in the final product. I honestly don't have any hopes, expectations, or anything of the sort this time around. I'm just glad the woman recording again & seemingly having a great time doing it.

In some ways, I'd almost rather they work on "lackluster" demos such as Starshine than on some of the fan favorites -- China Doll, Dealer (take 5), etc. -- because those are already perfect to me and would be hard to improve on!

So glad she's doing part of this at her house again. Home is the most comfortable enviornment to be in, so recording there must feel more natural vs. in a studio for the entire project.
This is moving right along, isn't it? I can't wait until October!! ![]() Jamie

That snip of 2014 Starshine is VERY faithful to the Bella Donna era track. I am hopeful that Dave will leave well enough alone on some tracks, and "finish" the others that need a little "boost" like Secret Love did.

Starshine was never among my favorite demos, but I gotta say, after listening to demos (a lot!) over these past few days, I really like it. I had never noticed the guitar work, especially during the bridge, which I think is lost a bit in the mixes I've heard, and I'm excited to hear the final product!!

I think that Dave could actually do something extra with the Bella Donna version of Julia this song is and epic IMO and I also think that Jimmy Iovine did not like the song and sabotaged it with a clunky arrangement.

Yeah there several songs that reference that film anything with the name Lily in it and also the "I see something I see a handsome soldier " line from Battle of the Dragons is lifted right from the film.

That is a good movie, except Vanessa Redgrave made a fool of herself when she accepted the oscar
