why, why, why release it in October in the middle of a Fleetwood Mac tour??? She will not be able to promote it while on tour with them. What the hell is her management thinking?

just dumb.

I actually think it could be brilliant marketing. What's going to get Stevie more media attention than a Fleetwood Mac tour? When they do interviews and appearances, they'll certainly ask Stevie about her new solo album.

I don't get the feeling that this album will be as heavily promoted as a release of new material would.I think it is geared toward the hardcores (us) whom she knows will buy it.

I don't either. She is doing this for the fans. Don't count on a tour.

My guess is that Stevie owes WB a record and Christine's return has completely screwed up her plans...It was much quicker to record a bunch of "Vault" songs and get the record out of the way...

Gold and Braid is one of those rare songs that sounds better live. I doubt it will show up on this new record.

My bet is she ditches out on the Mac after the fall dates, goes on solo tour, then goes back in the studio with the mac in the fall.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Fleetwood Mac's management would want her yakking on about her solo stuff, right?

If she were going to do that then why rush the solo album when she could put it out after the FM tour...

I'm really excited about this release. This is what we've all been saying forever. She has endless songs at her disposal. Just re record all your old demos and get them "out of he way" so to speak. I really hope most of the songs get the secret love treatment and sound very different and almost recognizable from the demos. Exceptions may include something like all the beautiful worlds and space needle, which are basically perfection as is.

Actually, now that we have a tentative title and release date, it sounds like this is going to be marketed as a retrospective, not a typical solo album. October is typically when all the best-of type collections get released, so I wouldn't be surprised if it actually contains re-recorded Fleetwood Mac/solo material as well.

The new Fleetwood Mac album will probably get released in the spring right after Stevie's release has run its course. Marketing-wise, I think everything is looking pretty good.

Oh, I would absolutely love All The Beautiful Worlds, Julia or Watch Devil to be released on this album and finally have their moment in the sun.

17 tracks though? Wow, that's a whole lotta Stevie!
