This sounds logical. It's clear that Stevie has finally found someone else, besides Lindsey or Jimmy Iovine, who can produce her work, so she's probably killing two birds with one stone by getting her solo material queued up alongside three or four songs for Fleetwood Mac.

Also - Gold & Braid - that was never released as a proper studio track, was it? I know the live version is good enough - but still, it was only ever a live recording.
It does mention that some of the songs may have been done live so Gold &Braid is a possibility. Also she mentioned after the 2013 tour that she may start working on the "Rhiannon project" again ..it could be that she finally gave up on it after all these decades and rolled those songs on to this album.

I've wondered if songs like Gold & Braid, Garbo, Joan Of Arc, etc are fair game, too. Honestly, I'll be pretty pleased with anything she records as long as she's the songwriter.

I'll hope for: If You Were My Love, Mirror Mirror, Forest Of The Black Roses, All The Beautiful Worlds... and to a lesser degree Space Needle (she'll probably never, ever release that one as amazing as it is), Melacine (is it too short?), Joan Of Arc (it should be a Mac song)... and to an even lesser degree Julia, The Dealer, & Sanctuary.

If she's really recording nothing but old demos for the album, it'll be the love letter to her hardcore fans that we've all been waiting for for decades, for sure.

Garbo..is a completed and released studio track..the B-side of the Stand Back hit single..I don't think we'll be seeing any of those songs on the new album.

Lightbulb Quandry...

Some of her demos from the past...I am totally in love with (Forest of the Black Roses, The Dealer (well, some of the 1,000's of versions recorded anyway. LOL), Space Needle, Three Birds of Rhiannon....and on and on.

That said, it will be interesting to hear her aged voice on these songs. So, hey, it's a win-win because we have the demos, which we've all listened to countless times and then, we'll have fresh, new takes on these songs.

Pretty neat.

I'm DYING for the FM album though. I NEED!! I NEEED!!!!

There's a never released studio version of "Gold And Braid" not to mention the live version was on the "Enchanted" box set...

Heart

When I read here that Stevie is doing an album of her demos from the vault, I was floored! Thought this would never come to be! I am beyond thrilled with this news. She totally trusts Dave Stewart to bring these demos full circle and complete them. Since working with him on IYD she has been rejuvenated with creating music, she is so out there, on Glee, Coven, so many collaborations with other singers, she is working it! She is reaping the rewards of her efforts and people are discovering her for the first time or rediscovering her. So happy for her! My wish list of demos for this new album:

Blue Water
Three Birds of Rhiannon
Forest of The Black Roses
Space Needle
The Dealer
Sanctuary
All The Beautiful Worlds
City of Hope
Melacine
Christian
Gold and Braid

Me too, really.

Although I'd also love China Doll, If You Were My Love, and Knockin' on Doors.

To be honest, there are a LOT of Stevie demos (that have yet to be released officially) that I don't care to listen to and am kind of glad they never made it onto any albums . However, the demos of hers that I do enjoy, I enjoy a lot. I think there are some definite gems in there. Hopefully these new versions will not only do all of her demos justice, but improve upon them.

This. This is so important. Stevie isn't recording these demos because she's got nothing better to do, or because she's having writers block, or because she has nothing current to tell us. She's recording these songs out of love for her fans, and honestly, it's about time. For years she preferred to maintain some sense of mystery and indignation about her demos, and it's nice that she's finally turning to the web to see what we have and what we love - and giving it back to us.

I think She Loves Him Still could be a modest hit for her even today.

I guess it's safe to say that "24 Karat Gold" is for certain one of the songs, since that's what they're tentatively calling the album. "Gold & Braid" is the only unreleased song that she's performed live. A current studio version could be interesting.

I never liked "The Dealer" that much, but she and Dave could've done something great with it.

My Choices

1. Three Birds of Rhiannon (I hope she gets rid of the dark lord of death line but love this song)
2. Love You Enough (my love is never lost)
3. Cecilia (it's very Tusk, atmospheric mood piece)
4. China Doll
5. Forest of Black Roses
6. All the Beautiful Worlds
7. Blue Water
8. Have No Heart ( love the moody darkness of this song)
9. Are You Mine (great country duet!)
10. Anybody Out There? (Anybody anywhere?)
