Dolly Parton isn't a good comparison. It would be more accurate to compare Stevie to other artists who've juggled solo careers and band membership fairly concurrently. Which is pretty rare.

For example, Don Henley and Glenn Frey recorded 7 studio albums with The Eagles over the past 42 years, and have recorded 5 solo albums each. Despite a large gap in time when the Eagles were disbanded. Based on similar eras, genres, and fan-bases, their careers are probably the closest analogy to Stevie's.

So I looks like we may be getting a new Stevie solo album before a new Mac album (how great is this!!! )...
Before everyone goes crazy about Stevie recording in Nashville remember this is where Dave goes when he record his records and when Dave records in Nashville at Blackbird his records are started and finished in 2 weeks...Another thing to keep in mind is that just because Stevie is recording in Nashville at Blackbird it doesn't mean she's making a "country"album...Now that Mick has let the proverbial cat out of the bag let's hope Dave let's us in on what's going on...
I wish it was a country record.LOL..

I'm still shocked and caught off guard with this awesome news about Stevie is recording a solo record.

[Martina mentions Stevie in this interview]

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/en...ry-meets-soul/

McBride plays a hands-on role in running the studio with her husband, who engineered the album's tracks.

"Blackbird Studios are so busy it's hard to keep up with who is booked in at any one time," she explains. "Stevie Nicks is there at the moment recording her new album. And Keith Urban has recorded a lot of his music there."

Hate to see Stevie mentioned in the same sentence as Keith Urban ..his music is abysmal.

Stevie Nicks BMI ICON awards AP interview http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/US...age=1&b=c42d8b

Stevie Nicks on the material for her upcoming solo album:

"We went on to YouTube and we found all the songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever, and we picked up all the songs that like -- there was like 25 songs that the fans really wanted me to record, and we picked 18. And we went to Nashville and we recorded 17 songs. So they're like all starting from like 1969 maybe? I call them my 24-carat gold songs

There's a solo album on the way, with 17 so-called "trunk" songs -- things Nicks had written and, in some cases, performed over the years that fans requested be properly recorded and put into an album
. A new Fleetwood Mac album is coming, too, as well as a big Mac tour, beginning 30 September in Minneapolis.

This is great news and very excited to hear what songs she has recorded. Even if she never wrote another song, there's enough material in the vault that would fill several albums and most likely many more that have never been leaked. I liked her last album and glad to hear she's working with Dave again.

is this for real? I'm having trouble believing my eyes. Maybe I should listen to the audio..perhaps that may alleviate my skepticism.

I wonder if this suggests that she's recording 24 Karat Gold?

Julia doesn't need cool. It is a fully realized song and needs nothing except to be released as it is.

I don't believe that all these vault songs are going to be released as they are..Juila was pretty much fully produced by Iovine who did not like the song.Of course there is no guarantee that it will be on the album but IMO is the best of her songs that have never seen an official release yet.
