And that's OK. When I met Stevie in December, I really felt like the DVD signing was all business to her. Sure, she was happy to see the support of her fans, but at the end of the day, it was about the bottom line.

This is it ! If the band is going to release a new CD,this summer is the time to drop it period. God willing the tour can go on for a year or so. As stated from many we have had the hits tour since 2009. It was great to have a couple new songs on the last tour. They could do Sad a Angel ( assuming it will be on the new disc) with maybe a couple more new tracks. 1. Release a new album this summer.2. Release remastered Mirage and Tango before the new album. The new album will sell if they market it injunction with the buzz of this tour. Releasing the album after the tour isn't a good call.

I love SYW and I think SYW part deux with just Stevie and Lindsey singing could have been something great.

But since Christine is outta retirement, and I never saw The Dance live or anything like that, a tour is probably the better idea.

I agree about being torn in regards to hearing new material vs deep cuts live. However, I think I'd rather have new material. But I'd "settle" for a combo of both.

Hmm I kinda know how you feel. I really want them to do another album with Chris. I don't care if it comes after this tour, and before the next, or whatever. I will be a little pissed off if they don't do a new record at all, though.

(i was that delusional last year. now i know better.) or easily satisfied with crumbs they gave fans with 1 deep cut / songwriter the last few tours.

of course if the new album somehow is out before the tour, i will probably scramble to get some show tickets, that i'm not buying now. as it looks now, it will be another oldies tour. i completely understand all deprived Christine fans wanting to go see it. i really don't get SN or LB fans getting anything out of it. (although i do plan to go to one show to see the 5.) this tour is for the masses, non-fans, and money-grab. from where i stand, it's purely insulting to fans - and this band is well aware there are tons of hard-core fans that follow them around. (at almost every show i've been at last year, there were same 20-30 people there, mostly SN hardcores, all the time.)

New album please!!! I would die if it was just Stevie and Linsdey again (it's so tired). So glad Christine is back, but I want new music.

Didn't we have a whole discussion about this? How could you NOT want a new album, new music. It's a no brainer. Seeing them perform Rhiannon or Don't Stop for the millionth time. ZZZZZ

I'm interested in new songs, but not a new album. As rehearsed as their shows are, I'd rather have a long, fresh setlist. Their last few albums have been so overproduced by Lindsey and Chris Lord-Alge. They're just blah.

Maybe Chris can convince them to pull back on the whispery crap and layered guitars. I think SYW would have been different if she had been there, not just in terms of her vocal presence, but song direction. I hope they're taking it back to basics, even if Lindsey does want another double album.

Releasing new music is the principal difference between a creative entity and a nostalgia act. For the last decade or more, FM has been teetering perilously close to becoming a dinosaur oldies act. The EP brought them back from the edge a bit, but only a new album can change the perception that they are an oldies act. Well...that or they can put their money into locating the Fountain of Youth so they can return to their prime ages.

I will always prefer new original recorded music over yet another tour. Having said that, I know that, in today's music industry, the only way to make a significant amount of cash is through touring. So it's a necessary thing. Otherwise, there is no band.

But the best thing FM could do right now is to really buckle down and finish the album, or get it very close to completion, with at least a couple of singles ready to go before the tour starts. It's possible...but for this band, the possible quickly...or rather, slowly [as in, over months and years]...becomes the impossible.

I wonder if they are factoring in their ages and thinking the physical demands of a tour can't be sustained for a whole lot longer so let's get on the road and rake in all that tour money while we are still able to withstand the rigors of the road. Working in the studio can be spread out over a longer time, it can stop and start to accommodate people's personal lives and whatnot… maybe they want the cash from touring while they can still physically do two hours a night and all the travel and changing time zones and such…. Or maybe that's too logical an explanation to fit this band's thought process...
