I agree. I think it will be out this summer or fall. It feels different.

I'm a much bigger fan of TISL and SYW. IYD is a little over-processed and polished for me, so I'm hoping for something with a different sound this time. Its all very exciting though, and I like the fact this album seems to be being produced much more quickly. It would be great if it came out this year.

I really want the FM album too ASAP.

I am so interested in hearing what Stevie has come up with for this new album. I found IYD to be a bit surprising.

I like IYD a lot but I get what you mean about being over processed. TISL was never a favorite of mine but it does seem to have a quality that IYD doesn't. It too is meticulously produced but it has more rawness to it.

I don't know how quickly it could be released. I mean could she do a round of interviews in June to promote it? Then, head back for FM rehearsals in July.

There might be one concert, like at the Wiltern, a listening party and one for the east coast too, but I don't think there would be any other concert dates this year.

I think y'all are setting yourselves up for heartache if you think the album will drop this year. When has Stevie ever released an album (solo or Mac) without touring behind it? Heck, she toured 2 consecutive years behind In Your Dreams... and then did the film festival circuit the 3rd year to promote it's documentary. Stevie is very much a capitalist when it comes to selling her albums... as she famously said, "This is not about art."

I think if anything, she will release the album sometime next year while the Mac is between tour legs or is recording. That way she can throw some solo dates in there. And that's being fairly optimistic in itself. She could hold it longer until she's able to do a full scale tour, and who knows when that will be.

That touring didn't get the album to gold. I'm not sure if she thinks it matters. You are forgetting that she is starting to feel her age.

I agree. I think she's finally realizing she's not going to see albums like she used to. Times have changed drastically, and yes, she is a 65 year old artist. This may be wishful thinking but I have feeling she's gonna drop the album this year ala Beyoncé, with no fanfare. It does seem to go against everything she has done in the past but that may very well be the point.

I agree.
Alhough it wouldn't be her normal pattern as far as releases go, there's a reason she wanted to get it done this fast.
Plus, as I mentioned before, there's no way her management and FM's management would let a new Stevie solo record and FM drop at the same time. Bad for business on both sides.

I hadn't even considered the FM album...which I do believe is definitely happening. Another piece in the puzzle.

At least someone here is being reasonable with their thinking and I agree that fans are just going to be disappointed if they think Stevie is going to record a full album and just throw it out there and basically turn her back on it...

Fleetwood Mac is doing 39 U.S. shows (so far ) this fall...They will probably hit Australia/NZ in February (12 to 15 shows )and UK in March/April ( 20 to 25 shows ) which makes approximately 70 to 80 "Reunion" shows...After that Stevie will do her solo thing and we wont see Fleetwood Mac return for at least a year or two...

We will have to see what Dave tweets. If the album continues to be a work in progress, that's one thing. But if it is pretty much finished according to him, I just don't see her holding it back. The FM tour won't halt album promotion, she can use FM touring as a part of the promotion.

She really promoted IYD in two bursts, not one. I can see her releasing the album this year with some fanfare and then promoting it full scale next year.

But see, Beyonce can do that and sell 2 million copies. People are going to pay attention to anything she does. If Stevie Nicks did that, in 2014, it's just going to come and go without anyone noticing. Just like the EP did.

According to todays Billboard article the band has no plans to do any "Stevie" songs until a later date and they have left room for Stevie to add her parts on the LB & CM songs...Billboard ...So it's possible the band had no intention of working with Stevie until a later date...

So it looks like Stevie & Dave are in town for at least a little while...

I'll preface this by saying that I know absolutely nothing about the music distribution process. But even after some quick googling, it sounds like the distribution process (unsurprisingly) doesn't happen overnight, with this one distributor noting a 14-week process:

http://klmdistribution.com/salesanddistribution

Assuming that Stevie isn't planning to drop a digital-only album (unlikely, in my opinion), I realistically don't think we're going to see anything before the end of the year.
