If you like the atmosphere, it's for you. If you find the attitude offensive, then it's not for you. But it's certainly possible that it's not the place you thought or hoped it would be.

If you're on Facebook with people who feel like you do and share most of your opinions and you hear that The Ledge is a downer and taints any enthusiasm you feel for the band, then the opinions of the people you like on the matter are probably something you will agree with, so there's no need to come here and get irritated.

If you were irritated a few years ago and left and just came back to see if things were still bad, they are still the same. So, you should be with people who share in your feelings for the band and multiply that positive vibe and don't bring it down.

That's what I did. I came here in 2003 and didn't like it and didn't come back until I could make it a place that I did like. The things that made the Ledge it's most popular aren't here today and they are the things that I personally did NOT like about it. That's why I didn't hang around here then. But what's true now that wasn't true then is that there are so many more social media outlets that allow people to identify the groups they like best and to converse with those people, while avoiding those they don't like.

That's what everyone should do. We have choices now that we didn't have years ago.

I wasn't complaining. I simply noted that many former members are noticeably absent due to hostility towards their favorite FM member, and still the overwhelming majority favor FM waiting for Stevie to release any record in that FM "Rumours" poll. Maybe you need to re-read my post. I'd understand if you were just a tad defensive since, after all, it is your board.

Not that I need to defend myself, however I am a fan of every member of FM (Rumours era), have all of their individual solo albums. Nevertheless, Stevie is most definitely my favorite artist of this band, and even I have been critical of her on occasion.

In my opinion, Lindsey did not do anything magnificent or unique with "Twisted" - which is a great composition. It was middle of the road production. Nice & pleasant - kinda like his "EP" material.

Not to mention she handed over the motherload on the SYW project??

So something sure changed?!?

What I love about The Ledge is that our members are allowed to be honest. We don't have to kiss anyone's a$$. No member of FM needs any one of us to defend them. I LOVE The Ledge exactly how it is now and LOVE Michele's sense of humor that didn't seem to surface until a couple of years ago. And I love her bluntness. I love her confidence when she says to people, if you don't like this site the way it is, then leave.

EXCELLENT points especially on the fact they were offered Joan of arc and went with wasamattababy instead

And Stevie's mirage songs are some of her best material. That's alright is FAR better then after the glitter fades, the comparable country song from Bella Donna. straight back is awesome. Basically a shorter sisters of the moon. And gypsy is well gypsy. All fit the flow and feel of mirage.

Twisted is best in demo form.

Lindsey's songs were far superior than Stevie's on SYW. Some of them like ilume and Thrown Down were ruined by bad lyrics. Lindsey did a great job with Smile at You...

Joan of Arc - gross. You proved my point.

I know what your post said. I'm not defensive. My position is simply that The Ledge is not the place to talk about how bad the Ledge is. A comment that not all Stevie fans voted in the poll, period, would have been innocuous. The comment that you made wasn't.

As for people not liking the hostility towards their favorite band member, there are plenty of Lindsey fans who don't like the forum either. They stay away. Are there as many Lindsey fans staying away as there are Stevie fans? No, because Stevie has more fans. But fans on both sides feel spurned and insulted, certainly.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^joan of arc is an awesome song! Don't know if I want her to do it now tho. It was a perfect fit for tango and now I feel it should just live in demo land for us die hards.

And about SYW, stevie and Lindsey both contributed great songs. My #1 is from Lindsey then the rest of the top 5 are Stevie's songs for me then Lindsey takes the rest of the higher middle songs and Stevie gives probably the 3 worst. So I feel she gives the highs and the lows of the album. Lindsey gives the highest high and the good but no bad. And like Stevie what I just said probably only makes sense to me.

And if you like both of them equally (and together) you're even more lucky - you can get double doses of bitterness and insults on one day even, if you go to the right threads! One can't just always go 'elsewhere' (like Facebook). It's an entirely different structure and way of conversing and, to be honest, threads/topics such as forums enable suit me best. Tumblr is, for sure, more 'friendly' for my needs but doesn't have that structure in place that allows for reading and participating in conversation and argument. I guess one just ends up in a place where you weigh your pros and cons - I HATE some of the hypocritical, judgmental, assuming, bitter, insulting posts I've seen about both SnL, but I also LOVE some of the posts about them and I value one's right to speak freely. Even if it gets on my last nerve something proper a lot of the time...

Well, that's certainly true for BN fans. I used to be a shipper myself as many of my old posts will attest and I am still fascinated by the SnL relationship, but the behavior of their fervent admirers have really spoiled the joy I used to take in the couple.

She seems to have a combination of both real & fake fur in her clothing & home decor. That definitely looks like real fur. If the hat was a gift, you can't blame her for it, though.

However, she wore a fake fur coat & hat to Sundance last year:

Wow, either I'm checking in and reading a completely different forum or I've got pretty thick skin and a realistic approach to everyone in FM.

The band members are human. They have foibles. We know those foibles, we call them out, we bitch about them, engage in a fair bit of hand-wringing but ultimately, if we didn't care we wouldn't be here. At least that's how I see it.

Some people think Lindsey's foibles are endearing and Stevie's are annoying and vice versa and give full voice to both sets of opinions in the various threads. I don't see the problem.
