PS Michele, I've also wondered about whether Sharon and Lori have been present for these sessions, but suspect that their contributions might come later. It's great to think this album will be knocked out at full pelt and then released, but I suspect major tweaking/re-writing and (three-part) vocal harmonies will come into play further down the road. |

With this one I have a feeling there isn't going to be any middle ground.IMO it will be really great or...an entire album of "Cheaper than Frees"

Now that we know there are 15 songs recorded and counting, I wonder how many of them will be vault songs? Has Stevie ever stated whether there are any vault songs she'd like to record and release? I'd love to get The Dealer, All The Beautiful Worlds (which I believe she recorded for SYW), If You Were My Love, and Julia. |

The only songs that we know were absolutely written by Stevie and Dave co-writing together are "Cheaper Than Free" and "Everybody Loves You". The majority of Dave's work on the album was production and adding melody to already written poems. There's absolutely no reason why Stevie couldn't have a bunch of new songs up her sleave or why she can't reach into the vaults for some demo's that never made an album. Most likely, the new album will be a combination of new songs with some old demo's thrown in, just like everything she's done since 1994 has been. |

Edit: Yes, because there's footage of it being written in the hotel room on the IYD doc Looking at the writing credits on IYD, Stevie wrote the lyrics to everything. Dave is credited with a co-writing credit for writing or co-writing the music on "In Your Dreams", "Wide Sargasso Sea", "Moonlight" (chorus only), "Everybody Loves You", "Ghosts Are Gone", "You May Be The One", "Italian Summer" and "Cheaper Than Free". That means that 8 out of the 13 tracks (14 if you include "My Heart") were created during or specifically for IYD. We already know that WSS, Moonlight, You May Be The One and Italian Summer were already written as poems before Dave's involvement. Everybody Loves You was a 4 line chorus that Stevie wrote verses to accompany. IYD came out of Jam session and was very much a group effort. Sorry, but I fail to see how Elle could possibly have any point when making a claim like "Stevie doesn't have any songs" since well over half her last album was already done by the time Dave Stewart touched it, and the majority of her songs on the last Fleetwood Mac album were new. She may be older and have slowed down the amount that she writes, but that hardly means she has nothing. |

Also, EO17 is perfection as it is, I don't think Lindsey would have known what to do with that song, or improved upon it. And I'm sure you know this, but "Rooms On Fire" was written after TITN was in the can. Quote:
