Simple as that.

...

Just don't call it "Fleetwood Mac" unless it has all the band members on it.
I agree they should fire her if an album is being held up because of her. At least both Lindsey and Christine made it very clear they were leaving when they parted with FM. Stevie, on the other hand, appears to want to get the benefit of wanting to be in FM without having to put in the work in the studio. If that's the case, it really says something about her character.

However, I will concede we really don't know what the situation is. If she plans to record and the Nashville project is a quick thing, then I suppose everyone wins.

I've been hard on Stevie, but I will make a few points to clarify my position:
  • She has every right to do a solo project if that is what she wants to do.
  • She has every right not to record with FM again if that is how she feels.
  • If the above is the case, then she needs to clarify her position and leave the band.
  • A new FM album, with four or five members, will likely not be that great, unless the band gets the right producer. The EP had bland songs with piss-poor production. If that's what we can look forward to, then I'm not interested.
  • FM has, like it or not, sullied its brand by effectively becoming a nostalgia band. It will never be able to shake that.
  • Keeping the above in mind, Lindsey is actually hurting his brand. His solo records got him so much cred as an edgy, alternative artist, and now he's ruining it by touring on the strength of mostly tired old songs. I don't think he realizes that.
  • FM is just about money today. And like any other enterprise that is about money, it can't be truly innovative or interesting.

Also, I want a full album and not an EP. And my plan of action is to be angry until I know what I want is going to happen and then if and when it does occur, I will be angry about something else. Or even if I'm not technically angry, I like to complain anyway. So, I'll continue on that course.

my thinking exactly!

The mythical Fleetwood Mac album that everyone is hoping for is probably not going to happen...Christine's return won't magically return the band to the '70s or '80's it's 30 years later and they are not the same people that they once were the band isn't in the same place it was and the industry is definitely not what it once was...Everyone has made their expectations for a new FM record so great that it will never live up to them...Rest assured that whatever Stevie ultimately contributes to the new record Dave Stewart will be heavily involved with and I wouldn't be surprised if that includes any contributions she makes to Lindsey's & Christine's songs...

Yes, all true. You get the best bang for the buck with the five members, and yes, it's all about the sales for the band (and any record label). With a legacy band like FM, they want to get at least 500K in sales, otherwise it's waste of their time.

I think there will be another Fleetwood Mac album, and I do think it will include Stevie Nicks. Nobody is the same person they were 20-30 years ago, but they have in fact evolved. All 5 of them are extremely talented people. Stevie's voice has suffered the most, but the way they were able to blend in London last year sounded amazing to my ears.

The chemistry in my opinion is much the same as it always was. Great harmonies, tight musicianship, and great work ethic. I don't think Lindsey and Stevie have ever really gotten along well since 1975-1976. I think they will tour and the album will come out some time during or in the break.

Stevie's album didn't sell well, this one probably won't either. But with the right marketing, an album with all 5 of them can do really well. They did really well selling 95% of three shows in LA, and the rest of the country.

I also get the vibe that LB and CM want to make new music as artists. Mark my words, Stevie's absence (which I believe she'll be there) will not stop them from recording new music.

If they aren't going to make another album, then why did Mick SAY they were recording? I have proof on video.

Well Lindsey and Christine also said, in interviews, that they were recording. I don't think they're going to do all this recording and then never release it.

We just got to give them time folks. We had our doubts about the IYD DVD ever seen the light of day and we got it.Stevie will be there soon maybe with Dave's help to speed things up in recording things.

I think Mick and Dave would make up a great comedy team.LOL

BTW .As a business of making money .Who's the boss of FM? Who supposed to be in charge .Or is it a partnership.

As a Stevie fan first and foremost - yes- release the album without her songs.

Frankly, my interest is waning for a new FM record. They've lost momentum, and Christine's return (which could be criticized of bad timing) hasn't seemed to speed anything up, instead, I think it speaks volumes that they have all signed up for another greatest hits tour - "On With The Show" I mean, heck, it could've evolved into something else by now, if Christine, would have come around 5+ years ago (when Stevie offered her 5 million to come back) for the 09' "Unleashed tour"!?! Things probably would've been completely different, if she didn't wait until the 12th hour to return, conveniently, once Stevie & the band continued to help keep FM relevant and inspirational for a new slew of bands (if mostly on the back of keeping the bands back catalog & "Rumours" tension/shipping alive.)

Stevie was especially essential to this resurgence, with her high profile IYD solo appearances, and enthusiastic willingness to bring her brand to a bigger audience & younger generation w/ appearances on key television shows. All along Stevie's solo success & influence saw it's biggest surge ever in Europe since around the mid 2000s, starting with her collaboration with Deep Dish, and continuing with YouTube's ubiquitious arrival, and therfore access to Stevie's vintage footage & catalog (bootlegs/demos) and finally with the release of "In Your Dreams" (with her extensive press tour & concert appearance at Hyde park)

And finally, I know I was not the only one underwhelmed with "Extended Play"! "Sad Angel", "Miss Fantasy" & the other piano one, were alright, but certainly nothing special or interesting. Lindsey & the band seemed to simply be retreading ideas with bad production! Nothing new. If that's what I am to expect with a new FM record. I would rather they not sully their 70s & 80s output. I say let Stevie & Lindsey continue with their respective & artistically more expressive sole careers after this refried "reunion" tour.
