Except that Christine specifically referenced a studio album.

Prior to that statement, I had pondered the possibility we'd get another "best of," or even a rarities collection, with a few new songs tacked on.

Christine also said the tour is starting in Chicago. When I hear Stevie talking about the album, I will believe.

They can do an album without Stevie. They won't, but I am sure that bluff has been thrown out at her. Michele

Stevie is the straw that stirs the drink. FM does not want to do an album without her. They all need to be all in and they aren't there yet.

No, they don't want to record without her -- which is why I said they would not. However, they COULD record without her and I wouldn't be surprised if they threatened to do so. By using the word bluff, I was indicating that they have no intention of actually doing so.

Anyway, all 5 were reported to have been sighted at the recording studio, so maybe she has put her voice on something. Michele

Exactly! Why re-introduce the world to Christine McVie and the magic 5, then not have Stevie. That would be ridiculous.

well, but let's face it, she probably knows full well they would't actually record without her so not sure how effective that kind of bluff would be with her.

It doesn't sound like Christine's material is anywhere near ready for proper recording; it sounds like she and Lindsey are still sorting through her tapes of rough demos and bits and pieces figuring out which he thinks can be turned into something….and then figuring out what that something is. I can't see the need for really any of the other 3 to be hanging around for that. Personally I have a hard time imagining John hanging around for hours while that stuff is worked out. He hates that part during the healthiest of times.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stevie waits to see/hear what the more realistic set of possible Chris tunes turns out to be and what Lindsey has on the docket from his own stuff so she can decide what she thinks she wants to do. It's still early days, especially for this group that takes forever to do anything under the best of conditions.

I don't think it's just Lindsey and Christine listening to demos and everyone else just lounging around. It sounds like they're working out stuff which I'm sure involves at least Mick since we don't know how involved John is yet. And all of Lindsey's songs were recorded without Stevie. So they do do that.

I sure hope they are filming the making of this new music.

Thank you for all the pictures and all the news articles! Not sure if this has been said in one of these threads or not, but the title of the new tour is "On With The Show." What show? "THE" show. An English teacher might call it an unclear antecedent. "Onward With The Show We Were Touring On Until John Got Sick and Christine Decided To Come Back Show. "OWTHWWTOUJGSACDTCBS"

Who knows. They might just tour to get Christine comfortable without an album, and then they will tour with an album. I'll be happy with whatever they do at this point.

^In their defense (or maybe it's making it worse haha), "On With The Show" is a super common saying.

I'm not debating anyone, I guess I was just making the point that it sounds like there's a lot of Christine/Lindsey one-on-one time going on to sort things out (from her own description she has a lot of pieces that aren't at all complete songs that they would working together writing more music/words to make into full songs.) That may or may not *require* a lot from the others just yet. I agree Mick is likely around for a lot of that because a)he's Mick and he likes the social interaction and b) as you say, his musical input may be useful.

But with this band, we'll never really know.

Yeah but few months ago Christine said she wrote like 7 new songs and about 3 of those are fully fleshed demos others more rough. So they probably don't have to work on her extra songs but since they booked studio time... I'm just speculating.
