LOL. That's a great point. Also, when Zoe and Madison were fighting over Kyle earlier, Cordelia was still blind, but she separated them by throwing Kyle across the room, as if she could see perfectly.

Smile "… and you smiled …"

What a beautiful way to bring "Seven Wonders" to a whole new generation of fans! Much of what I have to say has already been said, but I'll add my highlights included Misty's VERY Stevie-like twirl during the opening, as well as Misty's smile at the moment that Stevie sings " … and you smiled …" So sweet!

Agreed . If you watch the youtube videos of the original Seven Wonders video, they're now riddled with comments from people saying that American Horror Story inspired them to watch this video. I think it's a fantastic thing. It's even reawakening my love for the song.

I thought that also, but then was thinking that they were all weakened from having to compete in the seven wonders. That could also be why Queenie wasn't able to bring Zoe back. Plus Madisons rage at Zoe was also what fueled her power, and at that point Zoe was still dead.

Which version of silver springs did they use? 1977 or 1997? I like the dance version much better
They used 1987 vocals, but it was different then the album version.
I thought for sure they would have done sisters of the moon! Especially since they played it on tour.
So glad SW is getting attention, hopefully we will hear it this year?

I'm actually pretty happy with the way they wrapped the show up last night. We got to see Queenie, Zoey, Misty, and even Cordelia develop as characters & their powers fully blossom. Fiona made one last shocking appearance... and Cordelia finally stepped out of her shadow. The coven which was on the brink of extinction is now more wildly successful than anyone could have ever imagined.

I just really wish they would have implemented Nan in some fashion... as a helper from beyond the grave like they did with Spalding last night. That, and it was just a travesty Sisters Of The Moon wasn't used. Other than that, I enjoyed the hell out of this season.

You know, I felt kind of on the fence about this season, but after reading how you summed it up I can appreciate it more. I also wish Nan came back in some way though. Or that they showed her with Luke on the other side.

At first I hated that Misty was doomed to hell, but wasn't Marie told in last week's episode that you always pay for sin or something like that? And the first time we saw Misty, she killed two guys in the swamp. I suppose she went to hell for that.

After last week's episode, these versions of hell seemed pretty lame. Zoe's boyfriend breaking up with her over and over again (yawn), and Madison being cast in a musical, umm....okay.

And while I agree that Zoe deserved to be brought back to life (since Madison already had been), why would she still be in contention for Supreme? Didn't she already fail one of the Seven Wonders?

I saw an article online that pretty much ripped the show for making Cordelia the Supreme, citing a bunch of her actions throughout the season that showed her as weak and incompetent and as un-supreme as could be.

But those two guys were tormenting her. I would have thought that was justified. Nan killed Patti Lupone too, but she didn't suffer.

The mix sounds completely different to me. It sounds fantastic but then I had it on vinyl. Maybe I haven't heard it right since the vinyl era.

[Excerpt from Houston Press review of AHS by Jef on January 30, 2014]

http://blogs.houstonpress.com/artatt...y_coven_se.php

Somewhere in the thousands of hours of television I have consumed in my lifetime I once heard an adage that goes something like: "Everyone dies, not everyone truly lives". I have never seen that sentiment more perfectly, if slightly ironically, expressed than in the season finale of Coven.

First things first, and there's no getting around it. The episode opens with a Stevie Nicks music video. Seriously. It is a music video for Fleetwood Mac's 1987 song "Seven Wonders", which I went back and looked up the official music video for and let me tell you, it's pretty much the same exact approach except done with the cast of Coven.

I'll say it again, I have nothing but love for Stevie Nicks, but it's like this... I rewatched the entire season before catching the finale because my wife had a break in her nursing studies and wanted to try the show out. She lives in a perpetual state of disappointment that they never made a movie out of Anne Rice's The Witching Hour you see.

She also grew up with a sister who was obsessed with Stevie Nicks, and throughout the course of viewing the whole shebang in one big chunk she would pause it continuously to show me a whole bunch of references to the White Witch I had missed. Little musical cues and costume choices that were subtle homages to times in Nicks' life.

That should be cool, but it never, ever pays off. Nicks sings her song as the four remaining girls prepare to try for the position of Supreme then saunters out in a top hat because why the hell not? Nicks is never revealed to be any sort of figure of true importance, and her music doesn't offer a leitmotif that takes us there as a plot device. It's like the makers of the show just had a bunch of her songs stuck in their heads and exorcised the earworm through television.

It's not the only thing that was pointless.
