Recording in March, Tour in the Fall

My sequence:

1. Lindsey/Christine/Stevie (sparkling pop gem)
2. Stevie (mid-tempo rocker)
3. Lindsey (acoustic)
4. Christine (ballad w/L&S background vocals)
5. Lindsey (uptempo rocker, full-on harmonies)
6. Stevie/Lindsey (ballad with full harmonies)
7. Christine/Lindsey/Stevie (harmonies a la "Honey Hi")
8. Lindsey/Christine (uptempo)
9. Stevie (uptempo)
10. Christine (ballad or mid-tempo)
11. Lindsey (something rocking)
12. Stevie (something spooky)

I'm with ya on that. With sequencing like that, it'd be hard to go wrong and shows the type of collaboration that could make this project work.

Where will they record? Probably LA. Or at least California, where most of them live (right?)

I can't imagine Christine living several weeks far from England. She must be really convinced she want to do this Mac reunion.

LB and SN live in LA and JM is having his treatments in LA, from what was in the news. so that's 3 out of 5.

Men of Mac recorded 8 songs in LB's studio (what's cheaper than free? ), and SN and LB recorded WY in his home studio, too.

in DR doc, LB said he was building a home studio (different home and studio at the time!), and maybe FM will record their next album there.

so LB's studio seems like the most logical place for the work they will be doing together.

The studio that was being built in Destiny Rules was at Lindsey's previous house in Bel Air. Lindsey's current home studio is under the garage of his Brentwood home. Fleetwood Mac recording an entire album in a garage basement just doesn't seem too likely to me. Christine is the game changer in this situation... I just see recording an album with the classic Mac lineup will demand something a bit grander, I guess. I suspect Stevie has offered up her Pacific Palisades home since she recorded her last solo album there, and she doesn't actually live in that house. But I have a feeling politics would prevent that. Since Stevie wields the most power in the band these days, I don't see the band recording on her home turf, too. So who knows.

I think this new disc can be done and released by late summer. Having tracks by the boys already pretty much done and Christine's contributions submitted to Buckingham its very possible. I'm sure Lindsey and Stevie have worked out some things also. So when March rolls along and they get together they can still build together what has already been worked. (Much like the 1975 release) I have a feeling this is going to be big. I think it will explode just like 1997 and the Dance. Lindsey has said there are more chapters to write in Fleetwood Mac and this is the next one. So Excited!

yeah hard to tell with them and their politics.

i don't think we know whether a studio that was incorporated into a Bel Air house was bigger or better than the new one which is in it's own building under the garage? i would think each studio he built would draw on whatever he learned from the previous effort, so would actually be better? but he may have downsized it too, idk. i think i do remember him talking about the huge soundboard and how soundproof and nicely separated from the house the new studio is.

I would like to hear "It Takes Time" with Christine on piano.

I'm optimistic about the new album. IMO, Lindsey has written and recorded some of his very best work 1997-onwards. Imagine if Christine brings a few pop songs the quality of "Friend" (a song that was just dying to be a FM song anyway) to the table. In Your Dreams was a good effort from Stevie. I'm thinking it will be an improvement over SYW, which had some great work from Lindsey, but Stevie was hit and miss.

I never thought it would happen. My most complete Mac lineup back together again. As Mick would say, THE MAC IS BACK! So sweet!!

I concur! That might take the bit of generic out of it. Leave the cheesy synth strings out too.

I really doubt any of the EP tracks will be on the new disc. It wouldn't make any sense to re record these with Christine. There is no way Lindsey would re work It Takes Time with Christine playing keys.I also feel as much as we would like to hear Freind redone with the MAC it's not happening.

I agree. Although, I think the EP songs could be added on as bonus tracks for a deluxe addition. Which, for me, is sad. I really, REALLY want them to redo "Miss Fantasy" with Christine, although it probably won't happen. The best we can hope for is for them doing that on tour, and even then I'm not optimistic.

Yes, I think to add the tracks to a deluxe addition would be a smart move. As much as I would LOVE to hear Chris on these EP tracks I doubt it will happen and I'm ok with it. "Cant Go Back "
