I've never seen the show before. Did anyone else think that in the opening sequence with the names of the actors there was a part that looked like the part in the video for "Stand Back" where Stevie is walking on the treadmill?

Some random thoughts...

LOVED hearing Stevie sing Rhiannon and Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You at the piano. Lovely!

I really like Jessica Lange and Angela Basset as actors. Usually.

Hated the show. A lot

And I didn't understand at all what that one witch said about one day Stevie might betray her or something. To me it didn't make any sense to talk about a character who is only going to be on one show like that. Anyway, I digress.

Anyway, it was nice to see Stevie.

p.s. I didn't totally follow this thread, but I thought they were going to use a bunch of Stevie's songs. Was that over the course of the season? Or did I misunderstand totally?

For someone who is very adamant about not being an actress she did really well. And yeah, I thought it was kind of funny that she meets Misty and everyone goes to other parts of the house so she's just like "ho hum, I guess I'll just sit at the piano and play for a while". I kind of like to connect the dots in my mind about stuff like that so I just figured she was there for the night and after meeting Misty went to lie down for a while. And when she got back up she came downstairs and nobody was around, so she just sat at the piano and started to play.

She said in an interview that she thought she was just going to sweep through the room, say hi and then leave, and a very twisted part of me thought how funny if that's exactly what she did. She'd sweep in the front door, say hello and out the back and the girls would all look at each other like "what the hell was that???"

Besides Stevie being on it, that was a great episode. The acting was terrific. Emma Roberts is a great evil doer.

I'm gonna be honest. I was disappointed. I was hoping to see Stevie cast a spell or something big like that. But at least she was there.
And they killed Patti Lupone! (My favorite broadway actress)

I agree that for someone who has clearly stated that she is NOT an actress she did just fine. Without no experience, no previous experience of acting it is not that is easy to just step on to a set and start acting. Especially not if you are suppose to "play" yourself.

As for the plot I don't care all that much since I am not following the show and only saw it to see Stevie, but I can imagine that there is only so much you can do to incorporate her to the story when they found out about her appearance only a couple of weeks before it happened. Or is that not how it was? She wouldn't have been able to do it if they hadn't cancelled the tour, right?

I thought Have Anyone Written Anything For You was great! Nice to see her behind the piano playing and she looked great!

Considering she got the script the day before, and knows nothing about acting, she did extremely well. The one line that was flat (and it made me laugh when she said it) was, "Is she alright?" "Real Stevie" would probably been more like, "OMG! Is she ok?! Someone get somebody!!"
So given she didn't write her own lines she did great.
She must be curious about fans' reactions because a tweet was sent out this morning at 5:45 am asking for feedback. Stevie' s probably still awake!

Not to be flip, but hasn't Patti died in loads of roles over the years? Evita? Les Mis? Sweeney Todd? And those are just the parts I'm familiar with. It seems she kinda digs it. And it's something that seems to lend favour to actresses come awards season.

I'm excited to see Stevie in this! I'm a little nervous at the "well she was good for someone who isn't an actress" comments, but I didn't expect much else. Hopefully her part is undemanding and I won't really notice.

You probably just needed to watch the entire season for context. Stevie is very much an off camera character in Misty Day's mind. She's discussed pretty much every episode. And Stevie's not just going to be in this one episode... she's apparently in the season finale in a few weeks, as well. As a stand alone episode, this wasn't the best of the lot. But I've just adored this entire season. You really should watch the entire thing once it's out on DVD.

The Stevie songs have been played in almost every episode thus far. We've heard the likes of Edge Of Seventeen, Sara, Kind Of Woman, Rhiannon, and Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You. Stevie's music is treated very reverently. I think you're missing out by not giving the show a chance.

I actually thought that was great, comedically. The shift in her voice from "I'm Stevie Nicks" to "Is she alright?" Was perfect. Like, "Oh, n0t again."

Yeah, the continuity of Stevie still being around at the end of the episode and singing to Fiona (Jessica Lange) was a bit odd. I get the feeling Stevie left the Coven house after wishing Misty (Lily Rabe) well, but then Fiona summoned Stevie back to sooth her anxiety after her very rough day. Fiona normally drowns her sorrows in booze, blow, or boys... but this time it was Stevie's music. I thought it was extremely touching.

Patti Lupone was EVIL in the show. She abused and eventually killed her own son. B!tch deserved death!

If you've been watching the show this season, nobody stays dead for very long anyway...

I was hoping for a Patti/Stevie duet myself.

PS: I actually got to meet Patti in 2008 after a concert. It was amazing!

I've seen every episode of this season, and I think the show is all over the place, in its plotting, its characters. I just wish Steve's songs were a little better integrated into the show. Rather than just being played, they could be so much more effective had the editing and the plotting worked with the songs. A good example is Fleetwood Mac's Tusk in another FX show, The Americans. The use of that song, deconstructing it to just instrumentals, during the teaser portion (segment 1) of the pilot was inspired. It just perfectly fit the tone of the show, and established that in the very first episode. Another good example is "Crystal Blue Persuasion" in Breaking Bad. The use of that song over a montage was brilliant. I'm not seeing the same execution and use of source music for American Horror Story, which is unfortunate because they really have such strong material to work with. We were laughing that Stevie was performing on the show, rather than her songs being better integrated. At this point, I'd just love to hear "Seven Wonders," with all the talk about the next supreme having to perform them. That would be a great song to hear, one that I know isn't as well known or remembered by the general public.
