When I was buying my house, there was a list of conditions that the previous owner had to finish, before I took ownership. One of those was having all the hardwood refinished. So, they did it, THE MORNING that I was taking possession!!!

I showed up with keys, and a loaded car, and the smell would knock you down! Managed to unload what I had into the kitchen, and couldn't move in for a couple of days. Although it REEKED, until it DIDN'T. It was horrible, and then instantly, it was gone. I guess when it finally hardens, the smell magically disappears.

I've been a nomadic apartment-renter for my adult life, so I can't relate to these floor refinishing posts. But bad smells suck.

There. That is my contribution to this conversation. *proud of self*

Also, my husband brought me home bacon jam! BACON JAM! It is a transparent ploy to get him laid kinkily, and it is going to work 100%.

And yes, vivfox! I agree with you that Ledgies don't seem to be a terribly sharing bunch these days. Oh well.

Wind is just air that's in a hurry for no reason. Get some perspective, wind. Sheesh. Go slow and stop making my apartment so noisy. Thank you.

Wind is necessary to make Stevie's capes flow.

Touche.

If Stevie were standing out my window being all flowy, I'd totally be down for that.

How exciting! And yes, having a built-in support network upon arrival will definitely help. I could never handle the California heat, but by most accounts it is a great place to live. I hope you enjoy yourself.

Whereabouts are you moving in Cali?

The high desert area. It's currently 25 degrees with a "wintry mix" here in Kansas City, so I am beyond ready for the heat right now.

If you seriously consider 25 degrees fahrenheit to be too cold... I imagine you will enjoy California. Go and be happy.

Earlier in the week I covered a song by Liz Gillies and tweeted it to her... and by some miracle she saw it, bothered to listen to it, and liked it enough to tweet me back about it.

Just thought I'd share cause it pretty much made my week. I love her.

Thank you! I hope everything goes smoothly.

After dealing with the teens and the 20 degree F temps in the last two to three weeks .They said it will be in the 60's tomorrow here in New England.

I love that but it end up washing out the snow before Christmas .
