Yes, she's been her assistant for a couple of decades now. She took over the job from her sister, actually. Karen used to live with Stevie, but it sounds like she moved out sometime in the past few years.

I love that breakfast list.

I've heard she also has a sweet tooth, not sure how true that is. I love desserts, that is the best part of a meal.

I know Sheryl Crow has talked about trying to get her to cut down on her Starbucks.... again not sure how true that is. But that would be a fun question to ask Stevie.....if she is anything like me.....my favorites change every hour....lol

We had a note that she left for room service or something once. She said she wanted a hamburger with cheese and there was a comment about that because normally you'd just say "cheeseburger." Michele

As long as she steers clear of the brown M&M's, we won't have a problem.

That tomato soup is hanging in there. She mentioned it when referring to the Unleashed tour.

Merci boo cow aside, I love that she is the kind of person who uses unnecessary quotation marks. "2" sugars... or twenty, if you feel that's right.

Years ago sitting by her in a fancy restaurant in L.A.
I'm sure I heard her ordering two pieces of huckleberry
pie.

Lightbulb Timespace era

I had written this here before...or maybe not. I met Stevie a few times...Once at a restaurant on Sunset And Doheny...Beverly Hills/West Hollywood border. The place was called, The Hamburger Hamlet...it was an intimate dim kind of setting...low lights, deep maroons and greens, candles...A bit more quiet and more atmospheric than The Outback...but, along that scale....

It was her birthday and she had 2 limos full of friends and they joined tables together. She ordered 2 double "scotches" and was in a hippie hat and her hair was down and straight...she had on a flowery dress and blazer...and smoked one cigarette after the other...long cigarettes, 100s.

When she ordered food she ordered guacamole and chips and nachos...she asked the waitress something like...is that like 1 or 2 chips per person? Please, put those on this end of the table...laughs...she ordered chicken fajitas...before the snl skit...when the fajitas came the plate was on a wooden platter...the metal part was smoking and sizzling. When the waitress went to put it in front of her Stevie took the plate in her own hands...'then' asked if it was hot...and as if she were weak...she let it drop about a foot from the table...after dinner, she drank a ton of cappuccinos and when her cake came and they sang Happy Birthday...she stopped them...directed them to sing in harmony but, sing in a "round" finally they got it 3rd try.

When they were leaving and restroom visiting...Stevie was alone and that's when spoke for a bit...she looks you in the eye...shes very touchy feely...and she has that whole vibe for making you feel that she and I were the only two...she is humble and genuinely interested...asking questions...laughing...complimentary...polite...etc...I'm probably combing all of our brief meetings...she kisses you a couple of times and sort of bows/courtesies sort of squeezing your hand...touching your cheek...and nodding to patrons waving at her...smiling she is whisked away...she smells like Majie Noir Lancôme perfume...or maybe similar oils...and is lovely...

Jim
