Christine wants to rejoin the band according to The Guardian

Even when Lindsey said that Warner Bros. wanted a new record from them, I thought that was quite odd. I can't imagine WB wanting a new FM album unless Christine was on board and then they could work it like they did the Dance reunion. But why on earth anyone at Warner Bros. would be pushing for just the four of them to make an album was completely beyond my comprehension.

I suspect that there have been Christine-return strategy sessions going on all summer really, used as leverage in helping the group land some big contract.
