File this under bitchin' news!

Stevie Nicks is set to make a guest appearance on FX's hit series American Horror Story: Coven later this season, creator Ryan Murphy revealed on Tuesday. "Guess who's visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!" he tweeted to his followers. (Let's all do a Stevie Nicks shawl twirl over this epic casting news, shall we?!)

While she's yet to pop up in New Orleans, Nicks has had quite the presence on the witchy series thanks to Lily Rabe's kooky hippie character Misty Day, who idolizes the legendary singer-songwriter. And a source who works on the show exclusively spills to us that Misty's dreams come true when Nicks "comes to meet her biggest fan. And maybe sing with her." We. Die. Expect to see Nicks pop up in the Big Easy in episode ten.

Stevie Nicks Headed to 'American Horror Story: Coven'
Show creator Ryan Murphy tweets she's been cast for a cameo

By Mike Ayers

November 12, 2013

In the second episode of American Horror Story: Coven, Misty Day (played by Lily Rabe) details her love of all things Stevie Nicks. Specifically, she cites Fleetwood Mac's classic tune "Rhiannon" as inspiration for her witchy ways. Now Coven fans will get Nicks in the flesh, as creator Ryan Murphy tweeted this morning that she's set for a cameo. No word yet as to what her role will be, but the idea of Nicks and a show about a battle for witch supremacy should guarantee greatness.

This is a nice piece of news for Nicks, who's been on tour for most of 2013 with Fleetwood Mac. Last month, though, the band had to cancel their Australian and New Zealand tour dates so John McVie could undergo cancer treatment.

Coven is the third installment of Murphy's American Horror Story series, which changes its storyline, plot and characters each season. The show takes place in present-day New Orleans and flashes back to the 1830s. The series was recently renewed for a fourth season.

I've never heard of this show. Don't even know what exactly it is.

I'm shocked. The show is so "out there" that I didn't think Stevie would ever appear on it. It can get so gruesome. I didn't think she was still resisting the "witch" stigma, but I just thought the show was too gory for her to appear. And not gory in a natural way like a tv show about WAR would be. But just ... they will violently take out someone's intestines on this show during a stroll in the park.

Are they? I like the show well enough. I saw the first season, skipped the second and I probably would have tried to watch this third season no matter what, even without the Stevie songs. I liked the "school" premise, but the mental institution setting last year didn't appeal to me.

so I"ve heard. I've never seen it but it seems like everyone I talk to just adores the show. And since they've been featuring Stevie's music in the current season, all my friends assume I watch it!

I think this show is great for older actresses. They are not going out with a whimper, but with a bang.

I tuned into AHS during the first season because I liked Connie Britton but it was Jessica Lange that really got me hooked on it. Her performance in the 2nd season was just amazing and even though I hated the idea of the asylum it just worked.
I am really enjoying this season as well but yeah never in a million years did I think Stevie would be into making a cameo on the show. I have watched so many horror movies in my life and this show just finds a way to gross you out in ways you never really thought were possible. I cant imagine that Stevie has ever watched this show especially the episode with the incest and beastiality in it.
The ratings are huge for this season though which is really great.

Since I dont watch TV like I used to.I never heard of AHS until I spotted the AHS thread on here on the Ledge.

I'm glad to see the show beating out reality crap shows and I'm shocked its beating out NBA basketball games.

Also add the reruns off off network shows.

I hope the networks notice that this original scripted show is cleaning house and hopefully end the era of reality shows.

Well, Game of Thrones had already schooled her in incest.

While I enjoyed parts of the first AHS season, I kind of like a sequential plot and don't like it when dreams and fantasies walk on and off the screen and you don't know what really happened and what didn't. I don't really have an affinity for David Lynch/Mulholland Drive nonsensical things. But I loved some of the things that happened to Britton and McDermott's characters that first year.

At least with Coven, it is more of a conventional narrative. Things unfold logically and you know everyone's motivations. In the first season, I knew what Ben and Vivien were doing and why, but I had no idea what the ghosts' goals were. It all seemed so arbitrary. Michele

Hopefully it will be a mostly musical performance cameo. There are some top notch Academy award winning and nominated actresses on this show and her utter lack of any thespian skill whatsoever would be glaring in comparison.

“American Horror Story” has been really into Stevie Nicks this season, and now the show will be going the extra mile.

“Guess who’s visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!” Murphy tweeted this morning. Rejoice, fans of flowing garments: This means there’s finally a possibility of Stevie Nicks and Patti LuPone singing a duet, since LuPone plays the uptight Bible-thumping neighbor who lives next to the witch school that’s the focus of this season.

Make that duet happen, Ryan Murphy! If anyone can, it’s you!
