Listen, you know that scene on Airplane where everyone stands in line to hit the old lady, with all of their different weapons in hand? Well, everyone here can stand in line and have ONE shot to hit the old lady that is Phil's controversial post. So, anyone who hasn't expressed their disapproval yet, step up and without attacking Phil personally, say you disagree if that's what you want to do. You can do that once, but we aren't going to have the same people continuing to post on this subject. I think that itself detracts from the "John McVie" topic. Enough.

We aren't going to have a series of posts saying.

1. I don't like that post.
2. I still don't like that post.
3. I like that post even less today than I did yesterday.

It's senseless and it's not going to be allowed. I ask the moderators for their opinions. Sometimes we agree. Sometimes, we're collectively uncertain. Sometimes, we disagree with each other, but really when it comes to operation of the board those are the only 4 opinions that are going to be considered. I'm sorry the forum is a disappointment and has turned into something you don't like, but I know you can vote with your web browser.

I found the comment really insensitive and nasty, and posted on a thread that was started as "prayers and thoughts for John McVie", It seems to have upset many people. Can it not be removed? - on YouTube it would have been voted off

This isn't Youtube, nor is it a democracy. It's Michele's FM board, and she can run it as she sees fit. Just a fact...

All we can do is wish the man well and enjoy his music.

I'm with you. In addition to that, it's also none of our damned business. It's John's choice to reveal (or NOT reval) details about his cancer.

Hoping for successful treatment for Mr. McVie.

It's amazing how many news feeds are carrying John's story. I just saw this one from Romania.

The bloody world we live in, some people here are so sensitive .

As for Mr. McVie if he ever reads this I'm wishing you all the luck in the world mate. Cancer is a bastard and I hope you come fighting through the other side with what ever you do with your life afterwards.

I'm so sad about this ,I have the highest hopes that he will be ok ,still..we all have to accept that all of FM are of a certain age :three Bobs gone in a short frame of time of each other already, it's a terribly sad fact that life goes on. I wish I could have my heroes be invincible but I can't

All the best to John McVie,strength & goodness to him ,he's a lovely man.

he doesn't owe to anyone to detail what type of cancer he has...that is his business and not that of the FM fandom/fanbase, if he wants it to be known, then fine - if not that you SHOULD respect his wishes and not pry or assume.

If you are going to say that John's personal life is his business and shouldn't be discussed that's fine just make sure you apply that rule to ALL members of the band...

The thing is, John has made a point to keep his private life private ove the years. The other three tend to put their personal lives in the spotlight.

That's true. Just wish we knew at least 1. what cancer he has, and 2. if he's doing well.

Actually even just #2 would suffice.

And I don't disagree with you. At all! I cried a couple of times the other day, when we found out about the cancer. But barring opinions that we don't like, would turn this board into another Seven Wonders board...(note that it's now defunct! )

It's a very normal reaction given such a news.

Mick is supposed to be writing a book for next year. I wonder what he will put in the book about this, while still respecting John. I know John wasn't particularly happy with some of the stuff said in Mick's last book.

Of course, John does talk about personal things when asked. It's just he does so few interviews. But when they do a group thing and they've asked him about his drinking and Christine, he's been forthcoming.
