What a rollercoaster of a thread this was for me! Goodness, I hope John has a good and speedy recovery. Unfortunately my former boss had colon cancer stage 4, so this hits me kinda hard.

Get well John McVie!

I honestly don't think John was diagnosed until fairly recently, and then told the band. The Las Vegas was added to the tour not too long ago and if they knew about the cancer then they would not have added that show.

Also Stevie could still go to Australia herself and promote IYD. I don't see anything stopping her from doing it, so that could still happen.

My grandfather passed away of throat cancer a few years ago. Hitting a little too close to home.

Praying they caught it early and wishing John all the best.

Question

On the Fleetwood Mac news and reviews site, in the comments about John, I heard two different prognosises. One that John's cancer is very curable. The other one stated the exact opposite.

Any way to back these claims? I doubt that there's much truth in either, though

Does John have a twitter or Facebook page?

Well, I'm not entirely sure how credible CNN is with their statement (throat cancer), but I'd bargain that they are more credible than the random journalist on twitter who said colon cancer.

I don't really want to believe CNN though because esophogeal cancer doesn't have very uplifting statistics, from what I know of it.

I don't see Mick using the name without John by his side.

Fleetwood BuckingNicks will be the new name. Lol
without John McVie this band should not carry on.

IDY only went on sale last Monday
they would have known by then
if they were cancelling dates, why would stevie agree to attend the premiere?
she could have cancelled before the news went public.
no-one even knew she was a guest until last week when the program went up.
we all could have remained ignorant
but i agree, she's doing that independent of the band, i'd hope she'd still attend.

it was great timing tho with the film fest and the brisbane FM show

I don't really want to believe it either. But if it was caught early enough (hopefully) we can still keep our Johnny Mac for a while.

She played bass in her first band, Shades of Blue. She mentioned it in the Tusk documentary - "for some obscure reason, I was playing bass." Though without John, the band shouldn't carry on. Once John gets into remission, they really need to plan their swan song pronto.

The Big "C" is to close to home here.

As some of you know cancer is in my family .My dad had prostate cancer and survived 16 after it was found. My sister had breast cancer and survived 18 years after it was diagnosed.

I dont know what is up the road for me but I try to stay on top of it.

What ever what John has .He will get the best out there to get it taken care of early.
