Default Stevie at Australian IYD Premiere

International premieres and stars add glitz to BIFF

Australian premieres, an international star and a rock goddess are set to wow Brisbane audiences with tonight’s program launch for the 2013 Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) program.

Arts Minister Ian Walker said BIFF would host the Australian premiere of international production The Railway Man starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth on 13 November.

“The Railway Man is a great way to start BIFF – it was filmed locally in Ipswich and around the Gold Coast and tells the story a former British Army officer captured by Japanese forces in World War Two, and sent to a POW camp on the Thai-Burma Railway,” Mr Walker said.

“Music fans will also be delighted to see American rock royalty Stevie Nicks attend the Australian premiere of her documentary In Your Dreams, which gives an inside look at the recording of her 2011 album of the same name.”

Wow!! for only $40 we get spend the arvo with Stevie lol how good is that ..

For a split second i needed to weigh up with that particular date 13th, to either play in my teams tennis semi final ( the girls are going to kill me btw ) OR finally go see IYD's Doco plus the Q & A session..

Street Angel86 do you live in Brissy if so do you know the whereabouts of the Palace Barracks Cinema?
& for sure, it would be great to meet up..
My user name is suppose to be Aussie Wild/Heart, not With/ Heart.. lol.

Now that's dedication, travelling all the way from Adelaide & just for the day..

You might as well stay another night as F/ Mac will be playing in Brisbane on the 14th ..

And yes the Barracks is pretty much in the city - very close to the main transit station at Roma St. Some fantastic eateries around there also.

surprised this hasn't sold out yet, but I guess not many people know about it.

I presume the Toronto one sold out? Where else has she done these?

I live in Brisbane and so far have not seen or heard it advertised anywhere. I follow Brisbane International Film Festival on social media & even they have been quiet about it.

I think also the 3pm start makes it difficult for those who work office hours to attend. The tickets are selling though. At least 130 seats have sold so far.

Sorry. I shouldn't have stated this as a fact. I am only surmising.

I bought my ticket on Tuesday and got seat 40. A few of my friends then said that they wanted to go too. We have all purchased our tickets separately. Ticket purchased Wednesday - seat 70. 2 tickets purchased together early yesterday - seats 115 & 116. Then the ticket purchased last night was seat 131.

I couldn't find a seating plan either. I go to Palace Cinemas frequently and have never been allocated a seat. The theatres are not massive either so it should be quite intimate & FUN!

my ticket doesn't have a seat number on it i want front row

i wasn't looking for an IYD seating plan ... just a regular one. like at our cinemas it's reserved seating so they show the map

at least everyone wont have to line up at like lunchtime for a good seat (which i may have been willing to do

mine just says AISLE A -- enter door "n" ... wtf
