Around SYW, someone in the know, posted that the breakdown for SYW Tour, was
Stevie 40%
Lindsey 30%
J&M 15% each.
And those figures would make economic sense.

IF IF IF Chris came back, I would suspect it would go to something like:
Stevie, Lindsey, and Chris 25% each
and J&M 12.5% each.

And the funny thing is, I think that Stevie would WELCOME that breakdown, given how it would ease things for her.

God, just let it happen!

I'm not criticizing Christine at all. It just got me thinking of how differently her songs could potentially sound. That was something I naively hadn't considered at all in following her return to the stage. Listen for "about" the next time you listen to the London "Don't Stop" in Chris' verse. Sometimes singers won't pronounce loudly their first sound or sing away from the mic, and then have an easier time reaching the note on a more severe sound, in this case the "bout." I don't know if I'm right, just something I noticed and will listen for tomorrow night.

The autotune, I figured out a long time ago. There's something different when she holds her notes in the later years, though. Her voice quality's amazing (and quite remarkable for someone of her age and with the vices she has), but it's not as effortless as it used to be. You could tell aging plus the alcohol and the ciggies started to catch up on her. I did know they lowered the key for her performances in Maui as they sound deeper than usual. That said, it helps that Christine's vocal strengths are mainly 1. her distinct tone and 2. the lower part of her range (both of which she retained). What helped in keeping them intact is that she sings properly (if I'm not mistaken, Lindsey has brought this up at one point, saying that she sings from the diaphragm as opposed to her throat like he and Stevie did and how it helped form her vocals), and does not try to oversing. Call it playing safe, but then she isn't known for her adventurous antics unlike her two cohorts.

Meanwhile, her playing looks as sharp and effortless as ever. I think she could still play most of the set with her eyes closed.

That's okay, I didn't take it that way. Just want to know what to look for in the song because again, I have no musical background aside from compulsory music classes in elementary and high school (and a bucketload of music to listen to). I'll take another (of many) listens and look for it.

EDIT: Manage to catch that part you were talking about. She did the same thing on Oh Daddy in the Landover boot from The Dance.

If she wanted to come back touring and recording, then I think he would want that. But I don't think he wants anything less and would rather continue with what he and Stevie have carved out in the interim years without Christine.

Michele
I agree with all of this. Who knows...during the years between TITN and The Dance, Christine may have had a similar attitude toward Lindsey.

Based from Tango interviews I've heard, looks like she did.

No no no, a million times no! She's more like Rarity. Beautiful, fabulous, and dramatic. Not to mention spoiled, pampered, a tad lazy, whiny, and in it for the finer things in life! "I don't wanna be a cleaning lady..."

But Stevie also has defying the laws of logic thing, the talking about things only she understands, and a fascination for the written word going for her like Pinkie does. While she has Rarity characteristics, I would peg Lindsey as the one closest to the fabulous unicorn. I'm still debating if Chris is closer to Applejack or Twilight.

Eh I'll admit I haven't analyzed individual characters as much but I'm thinking she's more like Applejack. Maybe Lindsey is a tad on the Rainbow Dash spectrum?

Come to think of it, yeah, Chris is more stable, grounded earth pony than analytical, rather unstable, unicorn. Also, I see what you did there. Oddly enough, my initial conclusion with Lindsey was RD, but I thought he's a tad too finicky for Dash's personality (but he's certainly got the ego). John is the easiest (Big Mac ). Mick is the hardest.

Overanalyzing things is my hobby.

Discord. Just kidding! That makes absolutely no sense, but it would be funny. Lindsey could be Angel Bunny, if we're talking finicky. Maybe Mick is like Celestia, what with trying to bring together the elements of harmony, but more concerned with money, and not as wise. I'm waiting for someone to pop in here and be like "What the HELL are those two talking about?"

Actually the whole band saga is basically one huge Discord-ruled universe. I think the Mac can represent the Elements of Harmony. Stevie is Laughter, John is Loyalty, Chris is Honesty, Mick is Kindness, Lindsey is Generosity, and the chemistry they share together is the Element of Magic.

Meanwhile, back to the topic on hand. Where are we again?

I am so, so pleased that this is an actual statement that was made in earnest on this forum.

I really love this place.

Rinkov reminds me, in looking at the tour program I was surprised to see John had an assistant. John, what is Mr. Bunker assisting you to do? Everyone has an assistant except Lindsey, now.

Michele
This surprised me too, yet the name looked familiar--John Bunker has been an assistant tour manager for FM previously and he's FB friends with band related personnel. I think he may have been on a post recently about a bass giveaway JM did for Carvin.

Anyway, maybe it's a way to keep a tour regular on the tour or maybe JM needed the extra help since he's had family along.
