That's obviously a matter of opinion, because I don't think Lindsey vocals are any more shot than Stevie's are. As a matter of fact there are times when I think Lindsey vocals are actually stronger than Stevie's. So to each his own.

IMO, both of their voices are (relatively) shot, whoever's is less so depends on when and where. Mainly because they both never sang properly all those years and now they're paying it back big time.

he totally carries Without You.

only time i've noticed Lindsey's vocals being shot was during that Don't Stop yesterday. since Michele said it was not like that during the rest of the show, i have to think it was excitement of the moment making him hoarse.

nevertheless, Don't Stop sounded soooooo much better yesterday, with Christine's vocals added into the mix.

maybe they surprise us all and Christine participates in more than just Don't Stop tomorrow? yeah right.......

did you ever hear Lindsey solo show? people usually come out shocked how strong his vocals are.

They sang Don't Stop in the original key (not lower), which also explains it.

Frankly, I don't expect any more surprises either.

I agree with everything you said except this. It's pride, and Lindsey's earned the right to be proud of what the band is today. I don't think it's pettiness at all.

Agreed.

I mean, they can still sing (obviously) but neither of them have the voices they once did.

First, your right we don't really know what she said, nor do we know what question she was asked. But I do tend to believe the quote was used correctly. Why? Well it does sound like a Lindsey comment (the guy needs to remember when he's talking to Stevie, he might as well be talking to the press a lot of the time (not always) but a lot).

Secondly, I was kinda surprised too (thought not sure why?) at how nasty the comments were about Lindsey, and how fast the crucify Lindsey train started to move. It went from 0-60 mph in only a few minutes.

Lastly, as much as I love Christine and would love her to join Fleetwood Mac, I totally get Lindsey problem with her coming and going. If you worked your butt of rehearsing for a show for months trying to make sure the music sounds great, the stage lighting and special effects looked good and coordinated with the music etc... (and Stevie has said that Lindsey is the one that's in charge of all of that). Imagine how you would feel if a beloved band member made or started to make special appearances with the band. The show then becomes ALL about Christine's special appearances and all your hard work, as well as the music is pushed to the side.

The publicity over the last few weeks about "will Christine play or not play" has been enormous (and with good reason as she's not played with the band in 15 years) but it completely overshadowed the September 25, 2013 show, and now everyone is waiting to see if Christine will play in tomorrows show or not. All the hard work Lindsey has put in to make the show great has/is being over shadowed by Christine showing up and playing a song or two (or she could play the whole show it would have the same effect).

You can call it petty or egotistical (and it actually is) but I know a lot of people that would be just as ticked off for working really hard on a show and then having that work be virtually ignored because a coworker showed up and stole the show. And you have to remember that to Lindsey, Christine is a COWORKER/FRIEND. To us the fan she's much, much more, but not to Lindsey. Bottom line is when you do a good job, you want that work to be recognized and if someone comes in from time to time and steals your thunder, I can see how ANYONE (not just Lindsey) would/could get upset about it.
Thank you for that
All of it.

yeah b/c we know Stevie never wants to rehearse stuff to death.

remember this is a woman who picked the band to do crossroads with and then picked their songs she liked, learned them all on her own, before spending time rehearsing them with that band.

in contrast, Lindsey had no clue what songs the band he was asked to do crossroads with even had, showed up in nashville, tried a few songs for a couple of hours, and completely rocked out jamming on their songs for the recording.

I was talking more about having Christine do more songs and possibly more shows with them.

I can't promise that Lindsey wasn't hoarse during WT, but I can say he wasn't hoarse all night. If it didn't happen during Don't Stop, then it didn't happen long before it.

Even Christine, to a certain extent. Relatively intact, but lost some of her top range.

As stated multiple times, I understand Lindsey's point, so I'm not going all out to crucify him or anything like that (if anyone got in the way and I crucified them, I blame it on my impulses and emotions getting in the way).

Agreed petty is the wrong word. I definitely should have said PRIDE (we are talking about Lindsey Buckingham aren't we)

And that's what I love about Lindsey. He can just go out and play without a care in the world.

i wish she would.

show them Linds, get Christine to do more shows with you guys!!

i do believe you are right (or whoever said that) about lighting etc. you could see in vids from yesterday how lighting and big screen was showing Chris a lot, at the right places. so they had to set that up. and yes, LB is making sure all that works out, he was already talking about FM lighting guy towards the end of his solo tour last year and starting to set it up.

but as far as the music and the set goes, i want change. i can't believe there is no Oh Well in the set, and i was actually [stupidly] hoping for maybe something additional too. i considered Oh Well done deal.
