Stevie Nicks 'thrilled' by Christine McVie Fleetwood Mac London return
Published Tuesday, Sep 17 2013, 7:11am EDT | By Kate Goodacre for Digital Spy http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news...on-return.html Stevie Nicks has told Digital Spy that Fleetwood Mac are "thrilled" Christine McVie will rejoin the band for a special appearance in London. McVie, who last performed with Fleetwood Mac in 1998, will rehearse with the band in Ireland this week. She is tipped to appear at two shows in the capital later this month. Nicks told DS at the UK premiere of documentary Stevie Nicks: In Your Dreams that McVie had approached Fleetwood Mac about joining up with them again, explaining: "Well, she said she'd do it. She did not say she would do it on the last two tours. "So, she offered and we were thrilled, and it's great to have her back and to do a song. She's been very, very missed, so even to have her back for a little while is going to be good. "And it will be good to see her, I mean, we never see her, you know? We're all so far away. I mean, London to California is far. So it's really great that she's decided to hang out with us for a little bit." McVie and Mick Fleetwood joined Nicks at the Curzon cinema in Mayfair on Monday night (September 16) for a screening of In Your Dreams, which was directed and produced by Nicks and Dave Stewart. Nicks previously hinted that McVie may join up with the band for 'Don't Stop'. Fleetwood Mac's European tour starts in Dublin this Friday (September 20). |

http://www.virginmedia.com/music/new...ristine-mcvie/ Fleetwood Mac think of Christine McVie as a sister. The band are delighted that their former member - who initially joined the group in 1970 after marrying bass guitarist John McVie - will be reuniting with them for their Fleetwood Mac Live London shows on September 25 and 27. Drummer Mick Fleetwood said: ''I think she's going to come and do the last two shows in London. ''It's going to be great - Christine's music is so much part of Fleetwood Mac. She's been gone now for many, many years and she's like my sister. ''We're going to make her feel comfortable and have fun and I think people will love it.'' Frontwoman Stevie Nicks claims perform keyboard player Christine will join them to perform her biggest charting single with the group, 'Don't Stop', with her at the show. She told Gigwise.com: ''She's coming to do two nights here and will probably do 'Don't Stop'. I'm not sure, but she's coming to Dublin to rehearse whatever song she's going to do. ''We never wanted her to leave, so for us it's amazing that she is going to come.'' The band released the first album in 10 years, 'Extended Play', in April and will be wrapping up their world tour on December 7. |

I have to say I'm feeling rather mixed emotions about this (as the Rolling Stones might say), especially after hearing Mick confirm that it will be the second two London shows, as I have a ticket for the first night, the 24th... I'm terribly excited at the prospect of Christine coming back, but I can't believe I'm going to miss her. I suppose I will just have to think of the greater good...
I keep reminding myself that when I booked it all those months ago, I only expected to see the four of them anyway, but really Christine, couldn't you squeeze in just one more show? Oh well... |

I wonder if the producers will provide a DVD video of the 5 of them for their fans (sure to sell)?

They would be dumb not to film this. With the special guest: Christine McVie.. It is a marketing tool all in it's own..

Wow Christine looks awesome for 70. And stevie looks 10 years younger in all the pictures without the sunglasses. She looks incredible but only when we see her eyes.
And what's this one song bull****! I mean if she can make the effort to come on stage. at minimum TWO of her own songs are already in the set. If they're getting together to freaking rehearse then why not let chris sing on BOTH her songs? Don't get me wrong I'm great full for anything but it makes ZERO sense to have Chris come up and sing on just don't stop and let Stevie sing her part on world turning. Again details are coming from Stevie so she may be mistaken and she even admits to not knowing for sure so hopefully I'm right and Chris will be on more then one song. Ideally say goodbye should be dropped for songbird or maybe they just do 24 songs that night but this scenario may be pushing it.

Alas, I have a feeling Chris is keeping her stage presence so limited in order to make it clear she's not returning to the band.

My bet is she comes out for the encores...
Dont Stop Go Your Own Way and maybe Songbird? They did say they rehearsed Hold Me, maybe they could convince her to do that as well? ![]()

If she played throughout the set it would be fantastic. One of my bets is that she plays the encores on her first show, then full set behind the keys on the second show. Step-by-step, as to not overwhelm her too much and get her running back to Kent and hide there forever. And I know that this is very delusional of me, but another possibility is that Chris is returning to the band full-time. They're simply keeping it under wraps and she's going to announce it probably on her second show. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if this wasn't the case and it's really just a one-off thing.
