I have always liked the book of love, I fell that its one of their under rated songs. I was kind of hoping they would play that and Seven Wonders on this tour.

It's a great song. And I think it's part of one of the strongest sequences on any FM album.
From Love In Store (one of my favorite McVie tracks) to Can't Go Back (one of my favorite Buckingham songs and possibly the best on Mirage), to That's Alright (another favorite) to Book of Love, to Gypsy, to Only Over You (a sleepy track that reminds me of Over and Over and Mystified - all songs that start nowhere and go nowhere but they are mesmerizing....) Love this song. Love the whole album, but Oh Diane and Wish You Were Here were always duds for me. |

Back when I was a dumb teenager, I bought Mirage as a budding Stevie Nicks fan trying to explore her non-solo work. I picked Mirage because it was the cheapest Mac album on the shelf.
Smart use of logic, eh? So it was my first Mac album, and apart from the Stevie songs, I mostly hated it. It sounded so bland and cheesy to me at the time. Book of Love, though, was the exception. I found that one really enticing. My tastes have evlolved a lot since then and I actually love all of Mirage now. I'd even call it underrated. But Book of Love will always be something special to me. |

Most everybody here knows that Lindsey's songs aren't my favorite. However Book of Love would be in my 20 favorite Lindsey-Mac songs list.
Here's how "Book of Love" did here on the Ledge on my various polls/contest. Generally it falls in that middle ground between awesome and awful. ![]() 2nd place for Favorite Mirage-Lindsey song http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=44952 Only two votes for Least Favorite Mirage-Lindsey song http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=47359 4th place for Favorite Mirage Non-Hits (excluded, Gypsy, Hold Me, Love in Store) http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=49891 |

I actually enjoy a lot of the retro-50s sounds from the early 80s. Reminds me of sunny times and Lindsey's and Christine's songs really fit that mood. It's not Tusk or Rumours but it's enjoyable pop music. I have a playlist with a bunch of the retro-50s sounds from the early 80s, and quite a few Mirage songs show up on that.

As typical Fleetwood Mac (at least that lineup), I like a lot the combination of the 3 songwriters in Mirage. However I didn't enjoy Law and Order that much. Just some songs. No doubt in Fleetwood Mac the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts.

I have always loved this track. It's very intense and I can almost see in his head while he is singing it. The backing vocals on Mirage are stellar.
