Frustrating that Stevie didn't have more contributions. Maybe they're planned or already on the way, but it would've been really good to have at least one track put together for this promotional tool.

But I suppose this will be better than nothing given the low cost to them (since it's just digital).

After having 24 hours to digest the EP, I'm quite pleased, all things considered and definitely think it bodes well for a full album.
Sad Angel is a better than average ditty, in the vein of My Little Demon, but not quite as forthright (although the live version is almost as animated). Stevie's harmony vocal is perfectly fine and in my opinion, not nearly as strained as many of her Say You Will contributions.
Without You conjures up vintage Buckingham Nicks (quite literally circa '73) and achieves what I assume Stevie was seeking. I'm not sure it belongs on a Mac release and now that I've heard this update, actually agree with Stevie that it could have been included on a Buckingham Nicks 40th Anniversary Edition. I do, however, think Lindsey (not Stevie) sounds slightly odd at various intervals - his voice is slightly too shrill here and there, but overall, it's quite lovely.
It Takes Time is completely gorgeous and the definite highlight for me. This song alone makes me excited for what the band could produce album-wise. The lyrics are so sincere and evocative of past love... Stevie truly is a stubborn old buzzard sometimes - if this couldn't persuade her to desist with the defensive, disgruntled behaviour then I guess nothing will at this stage. This is precisely where their future lies, if there is any more greatness to be had. Shame on you crabby old, embittered woman!!
Miss Fantasy is barely there as a song in my opinion. Nice enough, but kinda frothy and instantly forgotten. Can't really hear Stevie either - she's mixed so low, she may as well not have bothered contributing anything.
So nothing atrocious and some delights to be had. Maybe a 7 out of 10?

I love the EP. It's a shame Lindsey needs Stevie to sell records. His stuff is excellent.

I like the new songs and it's so so nice to hear a piano in a Fleetwood Mac song. The instrument has been sorely missed. Lindsey is clearly on a creative roll and has proven once again that he is at the top of his game. Now if Stevie could just bring her In Your Dreams confidence and professionalism back to Fleetwood Mac where it belongs, we may yet get another truly great album from these folks.

...and her producer. Am I the only one who finds these songs strangely mixed and muffled sounding?

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I have not turn the radio on yet today but I'm wondering if any of these new tunes will get played on the radio or they will get thrown into the round file like IYD CD did after the music director checks it out.

Ok .I have to tune to River radio 105.9 WHCN to see if they play it.
They were great in playing the crap out of SYW when it was released.

I find it ironic that I threw a fit over Stevie only having one song... Yet the only song on the album I don't like was her song. lol. Maybe it's because i'm so used to the young, beautiful version of Without You.. I just can't handle her vocals. It sounds like it's either a bad take or she was sick or something. Her background vocals on all the LB songs are gorgeous. I don't know why I can't get into Without You.
Anyway I love the rest of the EP, and it's not overproduced and too busy like SYW was. My favorite is Miss Fantasy. I think the lyrics are beautiful and somewhat heartbreaking. Lindsey can crush my emotions with his words, ugggh.

Think it's time to throw this quote back out. Good explanation of Miss Fantasy:
“I was thinking of Stevie when I was putting these together. Many of the songs I came up with were directed at Stevie. Miss Fantasy is a look back on…it’s talking about having a dream, recalling certain events that occurred years and years ago. The chorus is talking about ‘Miss Fantasy, it may be that you don’t remember me, but I remember you.’ That’s addressing all that’s happened over the course of time. You remember the person you were and the person I was back then? Is there any way to find any of that? Do we want to? Is it important to? Those are the songs about Stevie and me.”

The Mac is selling more than Fantasia.

Who would have imagined?
