Itunes just switched over to it's next day stuff and thankfully Fleetwood Mac is on the main page with new artwork (which would be great as the EP cover) so they will have some minor promotion.

It didn't remind me of SATC, but SATC reminds me very strongly of Christine.

Yes, had been browsing the thread and I read the comparison to SYH before I heard the song, so I listened with that in mind. I see what you mean. Of course, Show You How is one of my favorite Lindsey songs ever. At this tempo, which is a little plodding to me, It Takes Time does not fit into that category for me.

I could see Lindsey using it to close a solo show.

New art work? Yay. Let me go search that labyrinth.

Wow. To me it sounds like a leftover from one of his last solo albums. I hear nothing Mirage-like in it at all.

To me, it mainly feels like something that could have been written by Lindsey during that time because it just feels very safe and written with an ear towards a more commercial sound. It just feels very safe, a term I would also apply to his work on Mirage, whereas the rest of his contributions to Fleetwood Mac, across all of the other albums he was apart of (minus the back half of Say You Will) sound a bit more adventurous.

While the "slow down baby" part certainly borrows from Show You How, musically and lyrically, I don't think the rest of It Takes Time does. To me rather than being a ripoff or retread, it's more of a nod to SYH and the message in that song about finding love and life after the lights go down. I don't know the notes used to see if they copy SYH beyond the "show you how" part, but it doesn't sound the same to me.

So, Miss Fantasy is the one with the piano ending.

Thank you. So, from the poster we had, I didn't know that they were holding hands at the bottom as well as at the top. I'm into it!

the whole chorus of It Takes Time is ripped from Show You How.

Would sound light years better with Christine on the piano. [The piano playing reminds me of a Stevie demo, just different chords. ] Really highlights what's missing from the band. : (

Nice to have something new but overall I personally find it hugely disappointing.

Despite the griping - I have to say I never thought when they reunited for the Dance that 16 years later, even in small doses, they might still release new music. So grateful! That's longer than the period of time they were originally in the band. Of course we've only had the one album (with as many stevie and lindsey tracks as FM and Rumours combined) the Live in Boston DVD/CD and the one ep but still 38 years after joining the band and 26 years after it looked like they had split...

You mean it's the same notes, chords? Obviously, I hear that underneath the "show you how" sentence, but didn't notice it in the rest of the chorus. Although, I see you guys saying so. I don't hear it. But I don't hear that TITN is ISA either, so . . . I have to take the word of the musicians here.

The EP is number 137 on the overall chart already.

Okay...

yeah thats the perfct description. And clearly its her own fault but still wasn't expecting as much of a Lindsey solo vibe with guest Stevie Nicks. Her one contribution is a half assed rendition of a very old demo. either contribute something relevant on the tour break or just officially walk away from Fleetwood Mac and let Lindsey focus on his solo albums and you on yours.

You Cant Fix This is by far my favorite song released in 2013 by either stevie or lindsey.

i should clarify i think Sad Angel is incredible. I may have unfairly ignored that fact on my initial reaction due to it being less new in my mind. But i've loved the live versions and love the added guitar nuances i hear in the studio version.

Miss Fantasy is incredibly mediocre and It takes time is horrible. Worse then 3/4 of his material on the last 3 solo albums.
