Sisters... so what do we think?

I thought Sisters from Philly was awesome. She got really into it at the end.

After 90 seconds I clicked it away. I think it's too much of a rebuilt to get through. I can't stand the around flying "sisters", and Mick just doesn't drive it the way he has to. I miss the hooky accents he adds on the original and the old liveversions. But I totally miss the guitar-energy. I think it's a real bore.

No more than the Columbus video IMO.

Based on the videos I feel the first SOTM is better than the 2nd show's SOTM. I guess the rest of you disagree with me on this.

Hubby and I decided to skip this tour. (We saw Stevie in Sept. and opted to see the Moody Blues, and Crosby Stills & Nash) Of course, I was disappointed when I heard they were doing Sisters. But now after hearing it, I don't think I'll miss it. Found it kinda boring. Which makes me kinda sad.
But we're going Tuesday to see IYD's Doc so I'm happy about that.

No, I agree with you. Her vocal was better the first night. Her Philly vocal was very shouty-shrieky, which is exactly what I feared Stevie would do with the song when I heard it was returning to the setlist. Aside from the poorer quality vocal, everything else was the same in Philly.

i watched the Philly video and however great that recording is it doesn't do it complete justice. i can tell you after being at both Columbus and Philly show that you are completely wrong!

song was VERY different in those 2 cities. i will mention just one thing - Lindsey's screaming guitar part was back in Philly!! not completely as it was in 1982 but very much there, unlike in Columbus where he looked like he's just doing the work he has to, bored, during SOTM. it was great to see that guitar part back and i hope it just gets better and more pronounced from here on!

Yes to all of this. "Sisters of the Moon" is, and has been for a very long time, my all-time favorite live song because of the Mirage video--not "Rhiannon," not "Sara," but "Sisters." Because of this, I was dreading it in Philadelphia. Is it the same as Mirage? Of course not; however, there was great energy to the song, Stevie sounded good~(I leaned over to my own sister and said, "Bless her heart; she is really trying," and I appreciated the effort), and Lindsey sounded great on the guitar part. I was NOT expecting to be converted, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have to echo what many have said~the videos are wonderful; I LOVE them! But they are NOT at all representational of the live show.

I think it's one of those blink and you miss it with Lindseys guitar. Stevie is actually singing over it.

I honestly wish they would rework the set list to put SOTM towards the end as one of the encores. I think it would serve better purpose there, and I think even though Stevie would be tired by the end of the show she would put a bit more energy into it.

It's already being discussed as a toss-up here on the board that Silver Springs will get dropped. I think she should put her "sequencing" hat on and try again.

I bet it's kinda weird hearing SOTM so early in the set.

Regardless, I think we should try to be a bit more optimistic with the song being in the set, and be a little more forgiving in respect to age and current vocal chords, and to give it more time considering that the first few shows of every tour they do is a little shaky but gets better as they go along.

It's a long year of touring ahead, so it'll be interesting to see how this song grows and develops.

I'm more disappointed that she's not really getting into Rhiannon or GDW so far in this tour like the Unleashed tour. It seems more aloof this time around so far.

But who really knows - although the Mac is sometimes predictable in many things, they sometimes throw a little bit of unpredictability into it as well.

I'm just happy to see new videos of them singing either way.

I definitely would have to disagree..I noticed many more "Stevie-isms" in the 2nd show. She seemed to be feeling it more, just based off of the videos.

No one should be disappointed about Stevie "not getting into" any of her songs anymore. Forget about the diminished vocal range, she simply lacks the enthusiasm, energy, passion and intensity of yesteryear. These days, it's all about ego and her bank balance. She is now foremost a businesswoman, not a trilling hippie. Get used to it.

Well, you certainly have the right to choose to attend or skip a concert. But I find it laughable that you think you are making an informed decision based on some crappy-sounding, blurry videos on YouTube. That's just like assuming you shouldn't go see the "Mona Lisa" at the Louvre because you've already seen it displayed on a coffee mug. Your loss.
