Something I thought of just now - the part where Stevie is playing Dreams on the little keyboard, and singing, and then there are cuts to the footage of Dreams from the Rumours tour.

So obviously, Stevie was trying to reinforce her claim that her voice hasn't changed.

I found this whole exchange amusing. It's like she was saying "See. I told you."

She doesn't seem to realize that she doesn't sound even remotely similar to her 70s vocal ability.

my two favorite scenes:

sharon, lori, & stevie singing that 50s song together (what the hell is the name of that song?)

stevie & dave in bed singing "natural woman," and stevie freaking out like a teenager when dave kisses her ear.

One can listen to the song now and realize that the City is so much more than "wearing beads and lace and stolling down Bourbon St." (Many Southeren/NOLA posters here can attest to it).

I think this is the big flaw I have with the NO song. "I wanna dress up...ohh...yeah..." The City, History, and Culture is Much bigger than Ms. Nicks.

Thank you all for sharing your reactions to IYD Documentary.
Thank you for the balanced response to my opinion. I love Stevie, but I also feel that song was all about her and really didn't benefit the people who suffered in any concrete way. Had she used the proceeds of the song for charity that'd be another story. Also , if she had donated money given the victims something that would have helped them in the way the young boy in the footage was asking, then we would have known about that...

That's all. Is there anything wrong in that? I suspect she donated money as well, but nobody knows for sure and it is honestly nobody else's business.
Her use of the footage of people suffering and, in particular the boy who challenged the viewers on camera, could be construed as exploitation unless she did give concrete help, in which case that should be noted.

What did I do? Do you really want to know? Now who's being judgey. I gave an honest response. Deal with it.

So, the proceeds of her performance (ie: her fee) went to help the victims of Katrina? Or she lent her celebrity status to raise awareness and generate donations--or both?

It would have been nice if the documentary balanced this gesture with her impulse to write a song.

I thought it was great!

I didn't really like how she brought up the "I don't like to be told what to do" thing with Lindsey from Say You Will. But whatever.

I'm really glad that they included footage from the Wiltern show in LA (I'm happy about this for selfish reasons - I saw myself in the crowd right in front of Stevie )

Anyway, I thought it was really great; hope it comes out on DVD.

Fireflies, it was "Chapel of Love"

I loved the film! I saw it at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring, MD and it was pretty full, some empty seats. It seemed everyone really enjoyed it! I took my mom with me and she's not a fan exactly, but she'll listen to The Mac or Stevie when I play it or it comes on the radio. She said it was good and that it was interesting to see.

I loved it and kept thinking every time a scene faded out "please don't let it be the end already!" haha...I could easily sit through another hour or more of this documentary.

I loved how they touched base on all of the songs-although I wish a few got some longer moments (aka "Wild Sargasso Sea"), but I like how everything was represented (including "My Heart" playing towards the end). It was great to peak in at the whole creative process that inspired this incredible album.

One song I've been listening to even more than before now is "Italian Summer"...O M G...Stevie singing out doors in that gorgeous dress, the view...and the story behind it with the amazing fireworks display...I think I played the song 10 times today alone haha. It was absolutely gorgeous overall and you can tell a lot of time went into it. One thing that peaks my curiosity...will there be a Wiltern Theater concert DVD????

Fingers crossed!

I had my own Italian Summer in September 2010. Italy is dreamy. From Milan to Stresa to Venice. We had a marvelous time. I love this song, in large part because on our last day in Italy, it rained and rained, and the wind blew, and it was just...like no other experience...that storm, on the Adriatic Sea. I relive that last day in Italy every time I hear Italian Summer. And it is so romantic, and it is so soulful.

I saw the documentary in Baltimore to a sold out show. ( A few seats available) The show exceeded my expectations. I do hope this will be released with expanded scenes and interviews. I'm glad I saw it on the big screen. Stevie has a great sense of humor that really came out on this movie.

"In Your Dreams"---Houston, Texas/Landmark River Oaks Theater

I loved the screening. Although not sold out, there was a good size crowd on hand to worship the high priestess. The crowd was very into the film, applause, hooting, calling out, etc...(River Oaks Houston is Sandy Stewart's neighborhood).

A major highlight of the event was spotting Brooke Alyson in the audience. Brooke is the leader of NIGHTBIRD: A STEVIE NICKS TRIBUTE BAND. Brooke was dressed in full Stevie attire, just like she does on stage. Check them out.

I have never attended a Stevie/Fleetwood Mac event in Texas without seeing Brooke Alyson there. Brooke is a Stevie fanatic who has devoted her life the impersonating the Welsh Witch.

I thought I remembered reading about Stevie donating to Katrina, but now I think it might have been Haiti. Even so, I've always thought she was charitable and generous. If I had to guess one way or the other, I think she gave money to Katrina.

Our area viewing isn't unitl the 7th, and although I did see it at the Mill Valley gig, I am most excited about this showing because I can relax and just watch it. At the MV deal, SN was at back of room, and I knew she'd be out for the q&a, and we had been there already all day...I want to view it leisurely. The fact that so many of us are now FINALLY being able to see it is long overdue, and I'm so glad that's it's in so many areas for viewing. From waht I can recall, I loved every second of it. Being the pic fanatic I am, I ofcourse was overjoyed at the unreleased pic spam. Amazing. And also that a Ledgie made the fan submission grade!!
