This sounds like a great idea. If I were the band, I would give her a salary just to sit in her living room at the end of the night and play "Songbird" to close the show; just her and the piano. The video could be streamed in with a live feed. A Fleetwood Mac show should never be closed with anything other than "Songbird".

Seriously, if we don't get at least one more recorded concert with ALL FIVE OF THEM before someone dies, IT WILL BE A SHAME...!! I'm not saying that Chris would need to tour with them......but, a one off show in Los Angeles FILMED (a la "The Dance") would be nice.

I worship Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham......But Fleetwood Mac WITHOUT CHRISTINE MCVIE is just not the same, I'm sorry.....

Funny you would say that. Just today I was wondering what song will close the show on the upcoming tour. For SYW, it was "Goodbye Baby." For Unleashed, I believe it was "Silver Springs" until they dropped it, then it was "Don't Stop." Am I remembering right?

I don't think that the closer should be something upbeat, or at the very least, it should be something slow, like NGBA. Maybe Peacekeeper because it's dark and eerie.


The opener has got to be The Chain. It's almost like a law that that one be the first song they play.

really it not like they use it to move around or make use of a cat walk and ramps to get close to the audience or need effects a plank and some warm lighting is all they need

Anywho, perhaps there will be some stunning visuals in the form of a fabulous light show. The last few concerts I've been to have had fairly austere backdrops in favor of really wonderful light displays; glowing orbs and color-lighted strands blowing in the wind-fan. I found myself watching the light show, sometimes more often than the artist. Sort of a harkening back to the flowing acid backdrops of the late 60s, only 21st century version. I'm cool with that, even if I don't smoke dope anymore.

I'm visiting Facebook less and less these days. Trust me, we're not missing out on anything.

I don't think I'd care for confetti and lasers, but I'd love something moody and atmospheric like, oh, that old moon and tree backdrop.

Still, as long as the music is good I won't consider my money ill spent.

How can you say that? It's apparent from that photograph what EVERY SINGLE element of the stage design will be. Not only that, but what the entire set list is and the color of table clothes that will be used in the meet and greet area. And, again, based on that one photograph, it's all terrible. Seriously, you don't see that?

I'm new to posting to this board, but I've been a longtime reader.

From that perspective, I'm always taken aback by the vitriol of some fans. Whenever something new is revealed, such as this picture of the stage, or a new album is released, or a new video appears, the knee-jerk reaction is to hate it.

In regards to the stage design, if you've been following Fleetwood Mac for even just a few years, you should know that the band doesn't do flash. They very much consider themselves to be a rock 'n' roll band, and they want the focus to be squarely on the music. The drama comes from their personalities, their history together, the way they interact, the lyrics they sing to each other.

The thought of having a movable stage or pulsating video screens or holograms is wishful thinking and simply unrealistic. And if that's what you want you should go see Madonna or Lady Gaga or Cher or Rihanna.

That said, I do wish that the band would use the video screens they do have to greater effect. They have a vast treasure trove of documentary footage, old stage footage, videos, etc. that could be projected to evoke certain feelings and memories during their performance.

As a fan, though, I'll go to enjoy the music and the dynamics of a band I've loved for more than 30 years.

I hope the closer is none of those, but a song that will stunningly surprise us, as if to say "Wow, I never expected that one!." I don't understand the "this song has to open the show, this song has to close the show" mentality. Predictability is so boring. Why would anyone wish for the same old same old? At this late stage in their careers, I would like them to really shake it the set list. They have absolutely nothing to lose, and everything to gain by venturing into less explored pastures.

As artists, you think they would be inclined to do so, but alas, they continue to pander to the masses, oblivious to their hard core fans. They either don't have a clue or they are forever stuck in the mud.

Also, I find that projecting photo albums is distracting in shows; it takes your attention away from the "live" band. Abstract graphic imagery is much more effective, as it creates varied atmospheres that compliments the music.
