I still don't understand why Elle comments on anything remotely Stevie related when she's not a Stevie fan. Sorry Elle, but aside from trying to stir up **** and upset Stevie fans, what are you really hoping to accomplish?

And I'm also not a Stevie fan and here's my comment. Sara is boring, rambling, way too long song that should not be played in an FM set. I would rather hear two or three other songs that don't put me to sleep, even if they are other Stevie songs. There isn't even any really good guitar parts to redeem it. However, I am excited for SOTM, but only for the guitar.

i comment on issues and things i care about. saying that i commented, as a woman, on a woman's issue i care deeply about just so i can upset someone is pure bs, and if people cannot see that i cannot help them with that.

yes there are many people here purely to stir the pot and that has its merits on entertainment boards (a lot! it's an entertainment, we can't be all serious about it all the time!). it also has merits in prompting people to look at different side of things, in some cases.

in this instance, i was not trying to stir the pot, i was just stating my very strong opinion about the issue i care about... giving you in the process the reason [people seem to keep asking me about] why i get annoyed with SN as a person. there were many times over the last 3 years when i saw similar issue pop up and i didn't say anything, out of the respect for some of my good friends who like SN. i wasn't going to say anything this time around, even though i saw that RS title and it irked me (i even googled SN and feminism!), but then someone posted the whole thread on it, titled similarly to that RS article, and i just couldn't resist posting a small comment expressing my disagreement. it snowballed from there with some very uncalled for responses which i mostly ignored, and some very civilized discussion from several others.

you all are saying i shouldn't comment what you all don't want to read. isn't something inherently wrong with that argument? free country, first amendment, etc? this is a public board. i'm speaking very generally now - if a public person says something, don't we have a right to call them on it if we don't agree?

there were some really good posts last night in that thread.... there's a lot of just piling on just now it seems from what i can see glancing through, mainly chiffon-blinders-wearing posts, showing me the door of the forum since i dared to disagree (as you AGAIN just tried here!), and not giving any substantial thoughts. i've said there what i had to say, and so i have no reason to go back there anymore. if you don't like what's there, you don't have to read it.

ok i'm now once and for all done with this subject. if someone wants to discuss this with me more feel free to PM me.

That's the best way to look at it! Stevie hasn't performed the song in more than thirty years. It would be unfair to compare it to performances from so long ago.

I'm wishing that this signals a radical change in the set list. I hope this isn't just the one token, unexpected song. It would so sweet if they dig deep and perform some Buckingham/Nicks songs, as well as never/rarely performed songs.

It would be great if half, if not two thirds of the set list not be the same old same old. If they open with The Chain followed by Dreams, it will be sadly disappointing. When they first began performing The Chain in 1977, it was near the end of the set. It should go back there again.

To my ears, "Sara" is one of the most sublime pop songs ever committed to tape, and Stevie's vocals on the recent live versions bring it to yet another level. I'm happy it's still in the setlist. I'm also thrilled for the long-awaited return of "Sisters Of The Moon." Would be outstanding if "Angel" found its way into the set too.

In terms of songs with Stevie on lead vocal or lead duet vocal, the only ones from the 1975-87 era that haven't been done live with Fleetwood Mac are "I Don't Want To Know", "That's Alright", "Straight Back", "Welcome To The Room...Sara", and "When I See You Again". I'd be more excited if they were doing one of these (except "When I See You Again") than SOTM. I guess a case could also be made for "Fireflies", but I always think of that as a live since it was on "Fleetwood Mac Live".
