I thought she attributed it to something her ballet teacher told her... that she was beheaded in another life and how she can't tilt her head back to be shampooed coz her head just falls back or something. Which just proves how true it must be...lol

Ok. Here it is.

I think I spent a lot of time in old churches, like a monk. I'm very comfortable around that kind of music, with that kind of creeping around, with being very quiet. My ballet teacher believes that my head was cut off in another life, too. I totally give with my body except for my neck. Even if I go to the beauty salon, I can't put my head back. They have to hold it or it will drop. The same thing happens when I dance or get a massage. It's very weird.

Now I do like the Mirage cover but I like the Outtakes shown in this thread much better than the photo chosen for the cover itself. I think theres alot of really nice pics/or outtakes also it was really really a shame there was NO tourbook for this tour with all those outtakes I would love to see all of them. Besides the outtake songs/unreleased material the outtake photos of Mac and Stevie solo always get to me someone's gonna make $$ off of it someday way not them?? Now too----IMO anyway.

My favourite, or one of my favourites! I like the mix between shadows and lights, and the colors on the full photo.
I love the other pics from the photoshoot too! Especially the colored one, it really looks like a painting of the Baroque!! Great work of the photographers, and the models...
Regards!

Funny you should mention this..I returned to this thread after an art history class today. I have studied Baroque painting before, but for some reason was completely taken aback by one of Caravaggio's paintings we saw.

Although not an exact replica, the dramatic lighting, chiaroscuro, positions of figures AND all of our talk of Stevie's neck/head..this struck a chord with me. Christine peering over Lindsey's shoulder wearing the headscarf is almost too spot on to be a coincidence. Thoughts anyone? Has this ever been mentioned?

I thought it was at least a possible influence..since the group had an artistic background, the Dance used Matisse's work as an inspiration and Tango obviously used an actual painting for its cover.

That's what I thought, too.

Hi, and thanks! I'm really amazed by the similarities between the pictures! Caravaggio was one of the most representative painters of the Baroque, and this so similar...the neck of the man, the old woman in the right, looking for somewhere...I don't know if there's a coincidence or not! FM really had, as we can see, a big interest for arts!
For me, Chris' eyes are looking at Lindsey, but now that you say it, I can think she's looking to somewhere too!
Regards,
Mark.

Glad to see this thread is referenced in the Mirage Deluxe thread. Can anybody post some scanned pictures from the Deluxe package? I just bought the digital songs.

Yeah, I'm anxious to see some of the artwork. I bought the mp3's.

Great thread.

The old lady in the hands has me convinced. I think it's totally in character for this band to have that hidden in there.

George Hurrell who took the cover picture was a photographer from the 'Golden Age' of Hollywood, specializing in glamor shots. I seriously doubt he was into artsy-fartsy subliminal messaging.

The 'old lady' is purely coincidental. Like seeing a 'recognizable' image in the clouds.

Ah I don't know. I noticed on one of the outtake shots, the lighting still suggested the silhouette of an aged, hooded face.
