Default Columbus venue

Has anyone ever been to this venue before? I am asking because I want to know if the security is bad for cameras etc.

From what I remember at the Unleashed show in 2009, photo taking wasn't a problem there.

I haven't had a problem at Nationwide. They do check for cameras (and weapons) and will do a bag check. Have your camera hidden--I always have a handbag and put camera in a zipped inner pocket.

We were @Nationwide yesterday for a hockey game and they had men put hands up to their sides-I assume this was a concealed weapon check. Ladies had bag search only.
Cameras are allowed for hockey though so checks were quick (concert camera policy is set by each band and they will likely have posted ' no camera' signs).

Here is a link to Cbus review from 2009-have a read and you will see most were okay with cameras.

Well I live in Columbus and I"m not going. I think I'm going to get layed-off again, so saving my money.

I am sorry. Same situation for us, sadly. We have cut back on some extras and are skipping this show. As I wrote, we were @Nwide for hockey yesterday (cheap tix deal for the family) and I kept looking at stage end picturing the band...

Thanks for the help. I do plan on bringing in my camera. I just wanted to make sure that they were not real anal about no video or pictures.

This is a fantastic venue. This was my first super sexy, closeup FM experience. My mom and I had 3rd row right in front of Stevie. Great venue!!

I agree-it is a great venue and the ushers etc have always been friendly and polite. A bit envious of your 3rd row experience- for that show we had seats off to the side and I should have held out for better seats as we were in a section of non-fun, no-standing people!

I am in Section 2 of the floor row D which is 4 rows in front of Stevie. I have never been to Columbus but I am looking forward to meeting whoever is going.

It is clean and safe and lots of people around when an event is on. You will be fine walking to/from the venue-as in any city/downtown be sensible, but you shouldn't expect trouble. The area is known as the arena district and has been developed in recent years so there are restaurants, bars, etc and of course construction eyesores. Yesterday was my first trip down there in months and here were many new apt buildings, restaurants etc.

Here is a trip advisor link if you want to check things out

I am staying at the renaissance hotel and was wondering how far of a walk it is to the venue? I am trying to plan preshow dinner with those going and was wondering what good restaurants there are nearby.
