Mine is definitely different- with Stevie's songs, it would be Rumours, but without her songs, it's Tango.

![]() Seems that Rumours and Tusk are still the top albums, regardless of Stevie's songs. |

Rumours still, by far....even if you cut out Stevie's songs. It's overplayed, the band relies on it way too much, but it is still a fantastic album.

Without Stevie's songs? So...TUSK! I can't imagine the White Album, Rumours and Mirage without her voice, backing vocals and her material. But Tusk has great songs of Chris and Lindsey. Only to mention Tusk, Over & Over, Brown Eyes, Not That Funny, WATL, SMAP, WMYTYTO, is enough. A shame for Sara and Sisters of the Moon, of course...
We know that, in Tango in the Night, the "fight" is only between Chris and Lindsey songs, even with or without the songs of Stevie. And believe me that I love Seven Wonders and WTTR...S, but Big Love, Everywhere, Isn't it midnight, and of course TITN are stronger... Regards! |

Although tango is the obvious choice, it being stevies weakest batch of songs. But i got to go with tusk because what were left with is still 15 great songs. If you take out her mirage songs it's an unlistenable album, and rumours would be so dull without Stevie's songs.
So while tango would lose so much less having no Stevie, I'd still take Chris and Lindsey's tusk songs over their tango songs.

I reconsidered before I voted again because I forgot to take "The Chain" into account as a Stevie contribution. Mirage most depends on Stevie and most suffers without her, Tango least so, but neither compete for me anyway. I looked at the change in generally unskipped songs on the others:
White album: from 9/11 (82%) to 7/8 (88%) Rumours: from 10/11 (91%) to 6/7 (86%) Tusk: from 14/20 (70%) to 9/15 (60%) Tusk keeps 9 good songs as vs 7 or 6, but loses 5 as vs 2 or 4 and thus drops the most to the lowest proportion of unskipped. Then, out of the songs I wouldn't skip there's 4-5 songs on the white album, 4-5 songs on Rumours, and 2-3 on Tusk that I would put on a "Hey Person Who Doesn't Know Fleetwood Mac, Listen To This!" mixtape/playlist. With Stevie's songs that Tusk count would've surely been higher. OTOH, of all the Chris & Lindsey songs here, the two "deserted island" songs would be "Go Your Own Way" (Rumours) and "Tusk" (Tusk). Overall I think Rumours still wins even without the MVP "The Chain", but Tusk is still a very ambitious record with an incredible title track, and the white album is still really solid. Stevie or no. |
