You're lucky you missed out on the inexplicably long waits for Lindsey's material, prior to the list you posted!

1983: Go Insane released
1986: three years later, shifts recording solo album to recording with Fleetwood Mac
1987: Tango In The Night released; quits Fleetwood Mac
1988: tells Musician magazine he has a "double album worth of material" ready to release
1992: four years later, finally releases 13 of those songs (not counting short spoken & instrumental introductions) on Out Of The Cradle
1997: five years later, tells Fleetwood Mac reunion tour audiences that his album is "half finished"
2002: another five years later, folds material from still-unfinished solo album into Fleetwood Mac
2003: Say You Will released

Back then, that small machine was in some serious need of WD-40! lol

Meanwhile, maybe it's a good sign that the three new songs haven't been released digitally yet. Maybe the band is still considering something bigger.

oh believe me, i know i'm lucky! i became a fan in Dec 2009. the whole 2010, there was not a peep! i though i will never ever have a chance to see him live or hear any new music from him. i thought FM has folded with the GH tour and they were done. i was so regretting not looking LB up sooner and going to see him in 2006-2008. when Saban was announced 2 weeks before the show i needed a full day to decide to go because even though there were serious rumors about the new album, i was thinking that might be the only opportunity ever to see him live. and then 2011 and 2012 happened! and now i'm spoiled and i don't want to go back!

gotta love your optimism about the good sign. i still want those 3 new songs NOW! again, look at all the reissues and new songs and new album Bowie is putting out right about now!

I became a fan during "Tango" and had to wait six years to finally see Lindsey.

i can only imagine. although he/they were younger then. one could have expected he will resurface somewhere considering he was only in his mid-late 30s in 1987.

in 2009-10 he was 60 and i thought both he and FM are done and retired, especially considering they were milking the greatest hits tour all throughout 2009 and that never happened before. some time in 2010 there was a RIP John McVie trending on twitter one day. it was a sad stupid hoax, but looked entirely plausible.

True, but he had said for years how much he disliked touring. I thought it was entirely possible that he'd never tour again. In fact, I was shocked when he did tour.

They don't need Stevie at rehearsal everyday just like they don't need her to record 8 songs. She can come in work on the vocals at the end. I don't think Stevie's solo gigs mean there can't be much different material. The guys can get the music down and she can come in later and sing, she should know the lyrics already and can brush up in her downtime.

Yes, Exactly....if she flubs a line on Miss Fantasy who would be the wiser? Other than LB, of course

And what could go wrong there?

Nothing really...but that is my point...no one would know the differance if they haven't released the songs yet.

I should have done a poll.

New Material:

1. Before touring starts
2. After touring starts
3. Never

I became a fan hearing GYOW end of 76 just before Rumours was released. I had to wait until 2003, fly to america, to see Lindsey for the first time. ( my parents didn't let me go to Rotterdam june, 1980. I was 14.)

This morning I listened to a live version of Dont Let Me Down Again from the Buckingham/Nicks era. I just thought that that could work now. I so hope that the new songs get released and they get it together and give us a show. I somewhat shockingly agree with Mick on this one, Lindsey and Stevie have an opportunity to really embrace this and bury the hatchet and just have a kick-ass time. I hope they dont let "us" down again.... Although, ill shamelessly will take whatever they give us together or solo

Christine should come back to record a Fleetwood Mac Bond theme song.
