Never! Loved, admired, treasured them for decades and it is always the same fantastic, delicious, aggravating soap opera!

In a 1984 interview with Rolling Stone (just after his Go Insane album was released), Lindsey said he still liked cocaine, but that it had never been a problem for him. This can be found in the approximately 22nd paragraph down...

i remember reading him saying that multiple times over the years... honestly sounds like someone being in denial to me.

although Mick did say that Lindsey was always more disciplined person then the rest of them.

Stevie said the same thing about Lindsey and cocaine. He has his own addictions, but I think cocaine was relatively easy for him to get away from and, it may sound silly when we're talking about drug abuse, but I actually think the monetary component was a factor for him. If you gave him cocaine he'd take it, but I don't think he's going to be buying it. Also, watching CAH's decline and change from the person she was when they met seems to have made a mark on him. Rightly or wrongly, I think he holds cocaine almost entirely responsible for that and it served as an extra disincentive for him.

You know the closest we've ever gotten to knowing anything about Julie is CAH's book. Although it was more than 30 years ago, when John was arrested, Julie was too. So, who knows what kind of problems that she had on her own aside from his. Maybe they battled demons together.

Do you know that he has an "addiction"?

Wasn't indicating that he is addicted to any controlled substances. Michele

I this interview from 1997 Mick claims het got sober 6 years ago:
Quote:
Six years ago, he decided to take charge of his life, and in an impressive turnaround, gave up cocaine and liquor cold turkey.
''After a while, it turned into a nightmare,'' Mr. Fleetwood recalled. ''The party after the gig was sometimes more important than the gig.'' He has said that in those days, ''I'd get off a plane. I'd have to meet a dealer. It was horrible, and you become beholden to it.''

"Even 20 years later, McVie still appeared to be carrying a torch for her. One night during the 1997 tour we all got drunk together in the hotel bar after a gig and he decided to address the entire room on the subject.

“She’s a lovely, lovely lady, my ex-wife, even though she told me to **** off,” he bellowed at bemused fellow guests before he struggled to his feet and knocked over an entire table of drinks."

As far as I've been told, Chris gave up drugs somewhere between 84 and 87, and stopped drinking and smoking as much during that time period too. Eddy Q was a huge influence in this because he was a pretty straight guy himself. Chris said herself she gave up drinking altogether in the early 2000's....but to my knowledge she never went to any formal rehab program.

Not sure what you are looking for exactly. Are you asking if she has any regrets or are you asking why she doesn't have any? She seems like someone that knows when her mind is made up. Christine had herself sterilized a long time ago. If memory serves me correctly, you can find that somewhere in the Blue Letter Archives here on The Penguin.

Ah- here it is: http://bla.fleetwoodmac.net/index.ph...v2&id=536&c=18

"Mick Fleetwood, for example, besides apparently still in love with Jenny (sister of Patti) Boyd, his ex-wife of two divorces, suffers from both diabetes and a related condition the exact opposite of diabetes; Fleetwood mustn't eat sugar and must eat a lot of sugar. One wonders at the possible cause of such an imbalance within his body. Meanwhile, remarried John McVie (the band's "Penguin" logo stems from the bassist's fascination for the bird-he even has one tattooed on his forearm), for many the definition of a Good Bloke, continues to seem happiest with a glass in his hand. Christine McVie, who has taken up with recently fired Beach Boy Dennis Wilson, seems to epitomize the paradoxes scattered throughout all aspects of the group: a Cancer, with all its mother (Earth) implications, she had herself sterilized, a very Californian thing to do."

Wow- thank you all so much for the info and articles! Very interesting reads.

Tango~ I thought I had read about Chris choosing to be sterilized, thank you for that reference. I was curious only because it seems that Stevie has talked about these issues on many occasions, but we don't hear from the other band members to that extent, when they did have problems to deal with too.

Thanks again!

I thought john got sober after having a seizure in '87? I guess he must of have fallen off wagon by '97.
