I just can't believe that this is anything more than the usual Mick 'well meaning but unfounded' rambling when he does interviews. Unless, of course, Christine has given him some reason to think otherwise.

Argh! I need to know.

"Fleetwood reveals that during a coming visit to Britain, where McVie nowlives, he will push her to honour a recent promise to travel back with him to Hawaii. It means she will be in town at the same time the band will be in rehearsal for their next tour."

The part in bold now makes me think that she may not even pluck up the courage to get on the plane, let alone sing...

Mick Fleetwood has said that he expects the retired musician to re-join the group

He just expects..

Anything is possible, of course. But he just expects.

I can't get my hopes up about this but I get goosebumps just thinking about Christine performing with them again!! It's nice to dream sometimes.

Oh my God how amazing would that be? If she came out after Landslide and did Say You Love Me and You Make Loving Fun or something, then rejoined for the encores.....Jesus Christ, that'd be amazing. Even more amazing if she re-joined fully for just the UK dates. Maybe that would kick-start her to do some studio work for an EP!?

*faints from thought*

gotta love love love Mick!
he first said Christine is coming out to see him and John in HI. now he's saying she half-promised him that but he'll see her when in England doing his advertising rounds and try to drag her back to HI... so even that part has not been decided.

i really hope Mick is successful and gets Christine to record some songs with them, and maybe even gets her on the stage with Mac for a song or 2 in London. but remember, that was a possibility the last 2 tours too, and she backed out... and i can fully understand why after all the years of not performing she wouldn't feel like doing that again... but maybe showing up on a song and doing a verse wouldn't be that much of a strain and it would be incredible for everybody!

the last time John did a Q&A I asked him if there was ever a possibility of Christine playing with them onstage (this would have been for the SYW tour) and he said there never was a chance of her doing so

I can't imagine she would want to play live. she hasn't done that for nearly 14 years

Be nice but I can't see it myself

sadly, you're probably right. This is all probably Mick's idea to generate tour buzz. But again, people do change over the years. Maybe Chris is just plain bored and needs to sing and play again, if only for a night or two.

That's true too. Though common sense makes me think that nowadays, Christine almost 70, has less intentions to sing in public than in the past.

But also episodes like the one happened on august 7, 1987, made me think (while I was reading Mick's book during early 90s) that Lindsey would never rejoin Fleetwood Mac:

Lindsey then came back into the house, very distraught. He shouted, "Get that woman (Stevie) out of my life that schizophrenic bitch!" Christine was furious. "Lindsey, look at yourself, screaming like a madman." There was a silence. And John McVie quietly said to Lindsey Buckingham, "I think you'd better leave now."
"You're a bunch of selfish bastards," Lindsey said, and walked out. He sat in his car in the driveway for fifteen minutes, obviously distraught, but nobody wanted to go to him. Eventually, we heard him start his motor and leave.

And now 4 pieces of that lineup looked so happy on stage. So.. anything can happen.

Sure, but in '87 Lindsey left because of personal differences with the others and a desire to do solo records. Christine left because the thought of going up on stage again and travelling stressed the hell out of her.

It's been 15 years. As you say, she's nearly 70. She won't do it.

I'll go with my official policy when it comes to any band really.....I'll believe it when I see It.

Lindsey quit FM because he thought Stevie was going to die.

There's a reason I've never seen Fleetwood Mac live, and probably never will. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the classic Rumours line-up hasn't toured Britain (Hi, remember us?) since 1980. Yes I know there was that all-too-brief 1998 Brit Awards appearance, but would you give a starving dog a rubber bone?

Christine is, for me, the heart and soul of the band and I just can't get too excited about the four-piece line-up cranking out another very predictable set list. If Chris does appear, maybe it will be an unannounced cameo at the end of the set at a London show. I really don't think she'd want the stress of performing a full set over several nights. Although I'd crawl across broken glass for a ticket if she changed her mind.
