They remain one of the world's most beloved bands, an eclectic blend of Englishmen and Americans called Fleetwood Mac. This spring they will hit the road once again, embarking on a significant North American tour that will run until late summer.

They also have just released an expanded version of their magnum opus, 1977's Rumours. The sprawling edition goes way beyond the basic album, which since its release has sold over 40 million copies worldwide.

There is also a disc that includes 12 unreleased live recordings from the Rumours tour and perhaps most interesting is the collection of 16 unreleased recordings from deep within the album sessions.

This treasure trove includes early takes of "Go Your Own Way," "I Don't Want to Know," "Dreams," "Silver Springs" and much more. In particular, the demos and outtakes provide a fascinating peek into the Fleetwood Mac creative process. And of course, the process of this album became almost as famous as the album itself. The fractured personal relationships, the booze and the drugs all combined to create a highly intense pressure cooker of an environment that as we know produced one of the most compelling albums in modern history.

To hear many of the band's hits deconstructed like this gives the listener a blueprint as to how they worked and how they thought. This was a band that was experimenting, exploring and incorporating much of their own personal pain into the art they were creating, and to have sonic evidence of it such as this is quite thrilling.

Recently, Spinner at the unique opportunity to sit down with Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood to talk about the album, the tour, the relationships and the possibility of a 50th anniversary concert bringing back all the surviving members of the group. (Interestingly, the interview took place in the same building with the band recorded the follow-up to Rumours, 1979's Tusk.) Check it out above.

Mick was asked what he was going to do for the 59th anniversary and if he had a plan to get all surviving band members together for that. He said that hadn't occurred to him and mentioned that Bob Weston and Bob Welch had passed last year.

Well, since she probably will do Soldier's Angel, I guess he might do one of his. Please not the title cut -- not unless it's the electric version.

When she said they all come in with their list of songs they want to do and sometimes it might be a song they've had on the list for 30 years and never got to do it. I would love to see each of their lists. I think it's safe to say SOTM is one Mick's list, but I can't imagine what songs are on Lindsey or Stevie's list that they've wanted to do but always got outvoted. She did say that about Storms or Beautiful Child though, that as a songwriter you have a song that you don't think you'll ever do live. I wonder what else is on her list.

yeah we were discussing that on fb. he/they should pick one of his rocking songs from SWS since he'll have a backing band / FM he can jam and rock out with that he doesn't have if he keeps doing completely solo tours.

however great Rock Away Blind is live, that song can shine completely solo acoustically, same with SWS acoustic that he never did with backing band even when he was taking a band on tour with him. so it would be completely disappointing if he/they picks acoustic SWS to do with the Mac. and please no need to do SAC or EOT again Lindsey. these 2 again would be better solo acoustically.

that's what everybody else thought. not me. my first picks at Saban were That's The Way Love Goes and Illumination. 1000s of listens later i never got tired of the live version of TTWLG

I thought it was hysterical when Stevie said they had 10-12 songs they had to do and then 15 that were up for grabs. Fifteen? As if. The true number is more like five.

lol. and she got those 5 already covered - 3 new songs and 1 each from hers and Lindsey's most recent solo album. add WATL to that and i might be able to live with it, although would not be nearly satisfied.

maybe they really stick to just 12 hits/setlist regulars?

Cracked me up when she said they would bring in the list of songs they'd like to do - the same list they've been bringing in for 30 years that always gets vetoed. LOL. No wonder she gave that speech about Beautiful Child during SYW: "I didn't think they'd let me do it. I thought I would always just play it at home by myself."

So, I saw a commercial for the Staples concert on July 3, 2013 and it says,

"Stevie Nicks, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham."

They are going with her getting top billing and him getting anchor billing, like Joan Collins.

They used old footage, some of it went as far back as The Dance.

Oh gosh. They start talking about Rumours and Lindsey's talking about how the dynamics of the songs flowed and then Stevie chirps in about the sequencing being great and Lindsey's like, "That must have been yours" with an awesome little glance/clearing of the throat.

Oh, that's so cute, because the way she is tapping his arm and he is smiling with both his lips and his eyes tells us that they have joked about this too, just like we have. Lindsey may have challenged the fact that she did the sequencing before.
