This. Tusk is not just an album to me, it's the reason why i love music the way i do, why i always need to know everything about it. Before i heard Tusk (and its background story), i was not only clueless about the way songs were recorded, but also about what was going on in music during the late 70's. Tusk was the reason i started to listen to The Clash and Joy Division, but also The Beach Boys and The Beatles' White Album.
I played Tusk, and i watched the Tusk documentary, and i read about Tusk, and nowadays it has simply become the reason why i don't really listen to Fleetwood Mac anymore, aside from this record. Tusk, with its multiple influences, made me realize that there was better music out there. And now i constantly look for new things (but to be fair i always get back to FM). I'm not kidding. I actually can explain how every album i listen to is somehow related to Tusk (yes, even the rap ones). Tusk is, in my mind, the mother of all albums.
