Are you writing more of it or will the arrangement change? I'm always interested in other songwriters' "process".

Keep up the good work
That's the first verse and then the chorus (the repeated part at the end). There's 2 more verses and a sort of interlude [that's the part I haven't entirely worked out the way I want.. I just know there needs to be a break musically or else it would get very monotonous)... I already have all of it written though and have for some time, I've just got to figure out that one little piece, which is why I didn't record the whole thing.

So, I know covering Landslide is a total faux pas (and I'm a hypocrite because I generally detest any version of it besides Stevie's own).

But it's a crowd pleaser, so I played it @ a cabaret night at a camp I worked with over the summer. There was a 2 min time limit so I did a few scratch recordings to make sure I could stay within those constraints.. just came upon them when cleaning out my iTunes and thought I might share one of them with you guys.

Obviously I had to cut basically the middle of the song out due to the time.

Thumbs up

Ahhhhhh, very nice!

There's something extremely soothing about your voice. Put out a CD girlfriend.

Another original, called "Beautiful Stranger."

also I've set-up a facebook page where I'll be sharing a lot more music/snippets of things I'm working on and such, so if by any chance anyone is interested in getting those updates, you can go here

Hi! Your last song is really beautiful. You look so quiet, concentrated but distended...
Is rare, but before start composing, I had lots of lyrics, but without the music. Now that I have the music, that I finally learned a lot of chords, I can't find the lyrics. Why?? An inspiration problem...
Keep up the good work!!
Regards!

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Inspiration is funny like that. Just have to take it as it comes!

So i was wondering, did you try to find a producer?
The other day i VERY jokingly asked Ken Caillat on twitter to produce my debut album and he VERY seriously told me to send him one or two songs, and gave me his e-mail address (shock...but i chickened out, though i'm now working on my songs harder, and i might send them one day...), but all in all i think you have enough talent to start sending things to people. if you want to.

Also that haircut makes you look like Stevie Nicks, but i think it's on purpose.

Thank you! I wish I were brave enough to start sending stuff out, but I wouldn't even know where to begin. I also probably wouldn't be able to afford studio time or anything so it would probably be a lost cause.

Ironically enough, the hairstyle wasn't on purpose. My mom forced me to have the same brown one-length hairstyle my whole life, so for my 19th birthday, her present was allowing me to get my hair changed. She handed me cash, an address to a stylists house, and told me to tell the hairdresser to give me highlights and a new style, whatever she thought would look good. So that's what I told the lady. And then I ended up with this, lmao.

Most people just say I look like my mother, though

Here's another new song I recorded recently.

Turn away from me, just turn away
All you meant to me was meant for other days
You promised nothing, what did I expect?
Still I could not love you less,
No, I could not love you less

Go on if you feel it, I'll beg my heart be still
It never was the mirror of another's will
Go on if you feel it, and I'll be waiting here

What's the matter when nothing matters in the end?
All our time spent wondering how
The love remains a shadow behind us
Painted in stone on the ground
Just painted in stone on the ground

Go on if you feel it, I'll beg my heart be still
But it never was the mirror of another's will
Go on if you feel it, and I'll be waiting here

No, I could not love you less
I could not love you less

Nice song ! Your guitar playing is quite good, i noticed also. And i love your little sister's (?) interventions.
Oh i know that studio time is expensive, but you know, just getting a professional opinion could be very precious, especially if you really want to make music, like, seriously (do you?).
Also, i think that you look more like Jenny Fleetwood in the 70's. Yeah that's exactly it.

Haha, yeah, that's my little sister. Between the birds and the dogs and the children so there's always something going in the background.

Thank you. I actually have gone to Nashville and checked out a studio once last year. A friend of a friend sent a producer/writer they know one of my songs and he contacted me and invited me up there to meet with him and talk about possibly recording. So I went up there, met him for lunch, he gave me a tour of the studio, listened to me play, and we talked some. He gave me some good feedback and wanted me to come back up and record demos with him, but my family wasn't interested in investing any significant amount of money into it.

I think the offer still stands, if I can ever get the money together and get myself up there, I just haven't been able to. But I'd love to do that. I mean, if I could choose what I wanted to do with my life, it'd be music. This is why I've changed my major 3 times in college so far, because I hate everything else I try to do hah. Unfortunately, school is easy for me - I'm too smart for my parents to let me pursue something I actually love. They would rather me get a college education and get a normal job instead of going broke trying to make it as an artist.

That's just great.
I can totally relate to your last statement. Everything is going well for me but i feel like i'm trapped in something i don't want to do, and i'd rather play some music for the rest of my life.
But be happy that you have the talent, that a lot of ledgies and even a producer seem to notice and appreciate. I know a lot of people - and i include myself here, actually - who are passionate about something but just can't do it right, people who aren't good enough.
That means that you never know, if you work enough on your music it might work out (even if it would be better if you could spend your whole time doing this).
I have to ask, what were those three majors?
