Fleetwood Mac Radio Play

I have been hearing Fleetwood Mac on the radio a lot here in Boston lately. Today on one of the major stations they played Paper Doll. I think they are getting people syked for their upcoming tour!

Maybe they'll have a contest. I'm not sure Paper Doll would make anyone want to run out and attend a concert, but I would be so amazed and thrilled if I heard that on the radio. If I was in my car, it might cause me to swerve.

Funny thing is, way back when "Paper Doll" was released, I had a friend in Boston who used to hear it on the radio. Maybe the song really took hold in that city.

I actually loved it myself and the video blew me away because of the clips. I couldn't get enough of it, though it made me yearn.

It's funny, there are some things that you see and you react to them because they brought you pleasure in the past, but when you see them now what you feel is not joy in the nostalgia, it's almost painful. Joy is fleeting and when you recall it, you don't experience the happiness again. Pleasure leaves a sad aftertaste.

Some people mock the circus music, but it's rollicking to me and I think some of Stevie's best lines are in there. Being in and out of love with her is being in and out of agony. And the line "yesterday I was fascinated by somebody else," made me shipper silly (sunflowers and your face).

I don't remember hearing Paper Doll on the radio in Los Angeles, but I saw the video on tv quite often.

Paper Doll has always reminded me of zydeco music, not so much circus music. I kinda dig the song. It's different.

It's great to hear that somewhere people can listen to something else than just "Little Lies" and all those "Tango In The Night" singles. I would love to hear "Paper Doll" on the radio. But waiting for this thing to happen...I will have to be satisfied with "Little Lies"
