Predictions: Bob Welch Songs

Since Ledgies are talking about Welch's songs, I'll get his thread up.

Do you predict FM will perform any of Bob Welch's Mac songs? How about Sentimental Lady? Hypnotized? Something else? Nothing at all? Predict what you think the Mac will do. Multiple choice.

That's been their pathetic position, on both the Welch years, and the Time incarnation.

It would be a nice gesture if they do a tribute song to Bob, or if they include a Jeremy, Peter, etc.. song. But I don't see that coming. My vote is no, but it's a vote of what I think will happen, not my wish.

Though actually there are lot of songs from the Rumours lineup never played live. And though I wish a Bob's tribute, I'd like more to see them playing one of those forgotten songs.

It would be a very gesture/tribute but I don't think it'll happen. They probably do Oh Well as usual but nothing of Bob's. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't even think any of them showed up for his funeral (maybe Mick did). It's sad because he was a big part of FM.

Sentimental Lady would be a sweet tribute, and it's a song most of the current band members have been involved with, either on the Bare Trees or French Kiss. Stevie always loved jumping in on Ebony Eyes, too.

"Ebony Eyes" wasn't a Fleetwood Mac song, but I think Lindsey and Stevie singing it together would be amazing!

Mike, Bob toured with FM, as an opening act, and Stevie would run out and sing with Bob, on Ebony Eyes.

Oh I know, I just thought some of the purists would want one of his actual Fleetwood Mac songs to be used to pay tribute to him, but "Ebony Eyes" would be fine with me.

At this point, most "purists" would be happy if they even mentioned Bob by name at the show...

It's a long shot they would even reference him. I don't think that crosses their minds. I'll eat my words if if they do something entirely innovative and inspired. Stevie promises big surprises on this new tour. In her terms, that could mean just one unexpected song. If that song was Sentimental Lady or Hypnotized, that would be a nice gesture.

I just wish they they would radically change the set. Don't open with The Chain and follow it with Dreams. For god's sake, their show shouldn't be as stale and predictable as a Sunday church service. (I'm not a church goer).
