Nightwish (Please keep a singer guys, 'k? Sheesh....)
Dimmu Borgir
Nevermore
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble (Have worn out YET another copy of "Couldn't Stand the Weather")
Yngwie J. Malmsteen
Marillion (Fish era only - Especially "Misplaced Childhood" & "Clutching at Straws")

And, as luck would have it, tomorrow (Oct 11th) will be Paulette's 60th birthday!

Also, back in 1981, when my band was touring Canada, we had the incredibly fortunate pleasure of being Burton Cummings' opening act for one week during Klondike Days in Edmonton (basically the Edmonton verson of the Calgary Stampede, although Edmontonians call The Stampede, Calgary's verson of Klondike Days) anyway, I digress....Burton's guitarist back then was Jack Daniels who would later co-found Highway 101. When we weren't on stage, Jack & I (and a couple of other band members would spend a LOT of time hanging out in the Chateau LaCombe's bar (or the pizza place across the street). Unfortunately, one afternoon, Jack had a run in with a possessed elevator that ended up doing damage to his ankle...a few hours later, bolstered by pain killers and a few beers, he soldiered on, sitting on a swivel-seated bar stool on stage and still rockin' his Stratocaster (oh, yes, there were quite a few spinning guitar solos that night!). Later that night, I lost a Pepperocini eating contest to him...not that I remembered the next day, although, I must have...I haven't had the stomach to eat one since.

Oh Wow.Thanks for sharing that. What a small world. Also Happy Birthday to Paulette.
I would love to hear Paulette cover some of Stevie's songs.Or on the same stage to that matter.

I met up with the band with Nikki Nelson first signed on at the local fair. The show was great .But missed Paulette. My uncle/aunt are friends with Nikki Nelson's family.Again what a small world.

I always say that Paulette is Stevie Nicks of country music. They look alike .They twirl ,same voice. They were or are in the band and also solo.and also almost the same age.

When I was a kid, I used to listen to a ton of country music. My absolute favorite cassette was Highway 101's Greatest Hits.

Other stuff (non-FM) I like (in order I thought of them):

The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Eagles
Don Henley solo
Elvis Costello
Neil Innes/Bonzo Dog Band
Rod Stewart
Del McCoury
Billy Joel
The Doors
The Strokes
The White Stripes
The Clash
The Ramones
Rockpile
Matchbox 20
Weezer (through Maladroit)

More but that's a good start.

So many names seem to come back in everyone's lists. Being a Fleetwood Mac probably makes you automatically a fan of other artists of that "genre".

Well, well, well...

Mainly :
Pixies
Bon Iver
David Bowie
The Beatles
The Beach Boys
Tim Buckley
Joni Mitchell
Kate Bush
John Frusciante
The Velvet Underground
Blondie
Cat Stevens
Elton John
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Steely Dan
The National
Milla
PJ Harvey

Also :
Led Zeppelin
Bob Dylan
John Stewart
America
Simon and Garfunkel
Serge Gainsbourg
Crosby Stills and Nash
The Doors
The Cure
Ataxia.

My listening mood right now, apart from the obvious:

Joni Mitchell
Simon & Garfunkel
Carole King (sooo much love for Carole! read her memoir, it's great!)

But all of the following are always in rotation :

The Beatles
The Mamas and the Papas
Elbow
The Black Keys
Adele
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros
Ella Fitzgerald
Bread
Dean Martin

YES!!! Just posted in your other thread before I saw this. Since summer I've been hooked..check out everything on YouTube of theirs. A lot is unreleased..but they're slowly becoming the next big thing! Trust me it's already happening opening for Florence and the Machine later this month in the UK.

Well it is happening within the music industry, but i just hope the general public will also get it. I hope they'll keep their rock n'roll cause they are getting more and more electro and we've already heard that with bands like The xx or Metronomy
