Pop Culture Blog, Dallas News October 15, 2012 [click for a video clip]
http://popcultureblog.dallasnews.com...wl-in-78.html/ By Robert Wilonsky [email protected] Another lifetime ago, also known as June 2011, we took a long listen to Fleetwood Mac’s July 23, 1978, Cotton Bowl show — part of the so-called Cotton Bowl Jam 2, which featured the likes of Billy Thorpe, Bob Welch, Little River Band and homeboy Steve Miller and followed the original Texxas Jam by three weeks. And it was a great show chock full o’ hits, beginning with, in order: “The Chain,” “Dreams,” “Oh Well,” “Rhiannon,” “Gold Dust Woman” and “You Make Loving Fun,” followed by “Go Your Own Way,” “Landslide,” “Say You Love Me” and show-closer “Songbird.” The link to the bootleg’s long gone; I’ll keep looking for it, for those so inclined to listen to audience recordings of shows they forgot they attended in the 1970s. Till then: The Texas Archive of the Moving Image just dispatched via Twitter the clip you see above from the Jim Ruddy Collection in which Mick Fleetwood discusses the rigors of the road whilst the crew sets up for the Cotton Bowl gig. Commence to commenting about how the Cotton Bowl looked better with the old seats. And how it needs more concerts. |

Thanks a bunch for posting that. It was real cool. Too bad we couldn't see any of the performances though.

I was at that concert. That was the first time I heard Sisters of the Moon. And even though it is not listed on certain websites, I know they played Silver Springs as well.

I was gonna say! I'm not usually attracted to Mick, but he looks cute there. Also, anyone else notice the lounge area set up for them
so funky, I love it.
