Question Concert in Houston?

Anyone out there no anything about the Mac playing in Houston? I see that 10/6 is the date, but as far as I can tell, tickets are yet to be put on sale. Where in Houston are they going to play? I hope it's indoors and not in one of those sheds. I can't believe they have so far skipped playing in this town. It gets no respect!

No kidding.
I think this one might be postponed, which is fine with me due to a personal scheduling conflict. Everybody I'ved talked with thinks the band will play the new place in Houston, which has gotten much play in the news this week due to it being named the Toyota Center recently. (Almost as fetching as Enron or Reliant Stadiums, eh?) In the news they keep saying that the arena will be opened by the Rockets days after the scheduled Mac date, and the place is not finished yet (but I hear should be ready in late September if they're on time). If the Mac is able to play there on the 6th, they will be among the first to play this brand new arena. There will be very little time for feedback/improvements on the acoustics, and this place is being built for basketball. If the band is coming somewhere else in Houston, nobody is guessing where. Reliant would suck.

I wouldn't mind a postponement, as long as they don't cancel it completely. Maybe slip it in after the Denver show, but if they can't play then, they will be off to Europe and then forget it. My thinking is that the reason they can't put the tickets up for sale is because they can't get a firm commitment from the new arena, since it's still being completed. I sure hope they play there. I'm not worried about the acousitcs. Just put up a huge bank of speakers and let the sound bounce off the walls!!! It's funny that the new place is called The Toyota Center because I have two brothers who live in Houston who both work for Toyota dealerships as mechanics. I hope to visit them and see the show, just like I did on The Dance tour six years ago. That show rocked big time!

Your brothers aren't at Fred Haas, are they? That's where I got my Avalon.
Feel free to PM me if you come down. If the show is postponed, I'll be there.
