I could see them doing Crystal, but turning it into a duet of sorts since both Lindsey and Stevie have sung lead vocals on different versions. I would love for them to throw something rare in there, but if they do something they used to do live (Angel, SOTM, etc) it risks not being as good as previous live versions, and many of the songs they haven't played before just might not work out at all (Welcome to the Room Sara, That's Alright, When I See You Again). However, I would love to see them do Straight Back or Freedom!

Crystal as a duet is pretty freaking genius... I know I'd find it incredibly moving, too.

Freedom would be amazing!! I can't see Stevie ever, ever pulling that one out of a hat, though.

Maybe it won't even be a song of Stevie's.

They have lost two, well, three, members within the last year, so quite possibly, they'll twist Lindsey's arm until he "gives in" to doing a Bob Welch tune. Brunning didn't write anything; Weston's contributions were very subtle (retrospectively major, but overall still very subtle)

Either "Sentimental Lady" or "Hypnotized" (or who knows, maybe even BOTH!)

I really love the 2 Welch era songs you mentioned. If they do consider a non-rumours era song I'd think Lindsey might consider 'Oh Well" again live but a Welch song could be a nice surprise..
Personaly I'd really like to hear more Tango material, Seven Wonders, Big Love (Full Band), more Tusk era stuff too especially Sisters of the Moon, Think about Me(maybe hard without Christine) Angel, SYW songs Miranda and Thrown Down, and I'll take anything live off Mirage.
Would be nice to get a Buckingham Nicks song or two somewhere in the set list also...even if it will be Don't let me down again..
Another song I'd like to hear live is Twisted. So many choices I hope they really surprise us all with something GREAT!

TWISTED would be really fun to hear live! Given they have so much FM material to cover, and likely won't stray far from a GH type set, I wouldn't hold my breath....

I hope to hear any of the following SN tunes:

SISTERS OF THE MOON
STRAIGHT BACK
SEVEN WONDERS
ANGEL
FIREFLIES

We might get a BN duet, but again, I wouldn't count on it... if so, hopefully, it will be CRYSTAL. Somehow, I see SN and LB doing a one off concert special (possibly filmed) to celebrate BN40. I don't think they'll use an FM tour to celebrate BN40.. but maybe!

I'd LOVE to hear NO QUESTIONS ASKED or AFFAIRS OF THE HEART... however, since LB did not originally play on either song, it is doubtful.

I'd die to hear Frozen Love live just once before it's too late.... but am not holding my breath.

Maybe they will remember how excited people got at the thought, during Lindsey's Soundstage.

I was going to post a long one, but this post sums up a lot of my thoughts. Angel, and the one mentioned a few times, Straight Back, would be great.

I was going to start a thread about an idea I had rolling around, "A Trio of Tango", where LB starts it off with Big Love (full band would be awesome, but we know he needs the ego/kudos of solo), Stevie plays Seven Wonders and Lindsey brings it home with 'Tango in the Night'.

I love you Elle, but I don't want more LB or SN solo material, we have WAY enough FM stuff that doesn't get played to lose more to a Stevie or Lindsey old hit. Imagine losing a FM Lindsey deep cut for "Trouble" or a new single like IOOT. That would be lame.

What I'm hoping for in addition to mentioned above:
- One of the new songs Lindsey, Mick, John have been kicking around
- Buckingham Nicks
- SYW songs

I really hope Bob Welch gets a tribute and they play at least Hypnotized (Lindsey did it in 1975), or at worst he gets a mention. It will really be shameful if that doesn't happen.

Anyway, I really just don't want it to be Unleashed 2. Hey, Lindsey wouldn't let 'Rumours 2' happen, maybe we can draw an analogy from that.

oh we are in complete agreement about Trouble! i wish Lindsey dropped Trouble even from his solo set like he originally intended (guess he must have chickened out).

but IOOT is hardly a hit, and you can even argue whether or not it was a single at all. i can bet that most casual FM fans don't know that song and it was a monster during SWS tour . it needs to come back when he has a backup band and FM could do nicely for that . but i could go for any of SWS rockers and would be a happy camper - e.g., TTWLG, One Take (FM would never have the guts to perform that one, i'm sure!). i guess EOT is more middle-of-the-road, safer, mac-ish song, but wouldn't be my choice.

similarly, i would think one of Stevie's IYD songs done with FM would very much please her fan base (i don't mean Secret Love), and i personally would much rather hear one of the IYD songs than Sara, for example.

also, i really think that doing just one deep cut per songwriter (like they did BC or Storms) is not good enough. i guess I Know I'm Not Wrong, although regularly performed during his solo tours, was LB's deep cut on UL.

so maybe one deep cut that was performed on previous FM tours (such as SOTM or Angel or What Makes You Think You're The One), and another never before performed deep cut would be nice (like WATL!!), for each of the 2 remaining songwriters in the band.

so again - i'm not saying replace LB deep cut with IOOT - i'm saying do both IOOT and a LB deep cuts. same for SN.

see, that's exactly what i'm talking about when i'm saying more than just 1 "deep cut" - so we agree again! yes to all 3 of these; some examples i can think of:
  • it would be amazing if they'd do one of the new songs that didn't come out yet (or they can do old one that never came out - Deep Dense! ), kinda like Lindsey did Dancing at the beginning of his current tour, but i'm not holding my breath. and i'm not sure that i want to hear something like Dancing instead of IOOT or a Tusk or SYW deep cut, tbh.
  • Lindsey has already been doing Stephanie for months now, so if nothing else, that would be an easy choice...
  • definitely! again, as you know, Lindsey had been doing 2 SYW songs on his current tour - BTLH and Come. i love both of these. also, Murrow would be spectacular, for example! and i would love to hear Destiny Rules from Stevie's SYW songs, but i know that would not be the first choice for most SN fans, so leaving it up to them. i can live with SYW (the song), i wouldn't like TD.

^I'm cool with Stephanie being in a FM set but I hope we get another BN song (that Stevie is actually on) if that's all the BN nod we're gonna get...

I will not be one bit surprised if we get "Soldier's Angel."

I'm really hoping for "Straight Back," but I think "Sisters" is likelier. It's constantly requested at shows.

Perhaps another thread should be started? Which songs would you prefer NOT to be performed on the next Fleetwood Mac Tour.
I could do without Don't Stop unless of course by the Grace of God Chris is brought back into the mix, which we know is probably impossible.

Really? I tend to think Stevie lumps Sisters into the same group as her Street Angel tunes. It's a song that represents a drugged out part of her life she she prefers not to revisit. Don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more than to hear Sisters live (even if it's a much tamer version), but I just don't see Stevie agreeing to perform that one ever again.

Will reply to Elle's post in a bit..

Quote:

While I agree with this quote and the post overall, if this was 100% true, why would she bring back other deep cuts from Tusk like Storms, and Beautiful Child? Those have references to her self-doubt and drug abuse (if veiled), and if it's the old-school witchiness, then Rhiannon could never be played..
It's like she sees Rhiannon as satisfying that vein of song, and with that being a hit and a fan favourite (I guess?), it gets precedence over SOTM.

Now I will say, instead of the snarky Rhiannon comment I was going to make, I saw Rhiannon live a week ago and it was really well-done, with the piano intro. No comparison to 2003/04/09 where she dug her own grave and shoveled in while singing, this was proper Rhiannon (of course Lori/Sharon help!!!).

Anyway. I would love SOTM. But for some reason, even Straight Back (an obscurer, less well-liked song) would have more chance. And I would love SB, too, I'm just saying, it's weird SOTM will never happen.

Mezzoforte's ironic point about us "getting" Soldier's Angel might be pretty prophetic too, high chance of that I would say. Although, like Rhiannon, any snarky comment I normally would make at this point has softened, since I saw SA live a week ago and it was eons better than the album version, performed with heart and good singing/guitar, with a good before and after story, if a little much.

Sisters of the moon is the obvious choice but I would love to see four or five acoustical numbers in the middle of the set. Maybe Long distance runner, Crystal, or Races are run. I Dont Want To Know would be nice or Angel would be a nice surprise but I see Sisters of the Moon making a return.
